| I need to just stay off of Craigslist, because there are always people advertising that they are re-homing their huskies because they cannot provide good homes for them, or because they are "more work" than they realized. I wear my fiance out trying to adopt them but he is pretty strict when it come to dogs. Im lucky he let me get Kota at all. It really drive me nuts when they put these outrageous re-homing fee's on these dogs that they say are "pound bound" if someone doesn't take them. |

| i got my husky off of craigslist and hes amazing, now up here in michigan its very rare to find a husky in general let alone on craigslist, but all my animals have been rehomed to me and my boyfriend because of craigslist, if your responsible then i dont see what the problem is, if you have an issue with a husky being on there, then go and rescue them |

The majority of this thread is not about getting dogs off Craigslist, it's about why they're there in the first place. No one is bashing anyone for rescuing a dog off there, what we are tired of seeing is irresponsible people that didn't research the breed, don't realize dogs are a LIFETIME (up to 18+ years) commitment. In addition CL is used to support BYB and those flipping dogs for money. |

| Craigslist, like anything else is a tool, depending on how you use it , It can help many animals find homes(A lot of shelters in new york use it to advertise death row dogs or other adoptables) or it can be used to support the disgusting thing which is BYB. My pup came from craigslist, the lady met with me with her children(Both under 5) and brought his paperwork and even let me use her medical plan she had for him. She just wanted to find him a good home, her re-homing fee was also what a shelter would have coast to adopt. Anyways all I am saying is in the right hands using craiglist is wonderful in the wrong hands it is terrible. |

| Yeah basically when people want to "find a good home" for their beloved pup and want what they paid for the puppy as an "adoption" fee. When really all they should be doing is trying to find a better home for their dog. I understand charging a small adoption fee, but those people that want $600+ are just trying to make their money back and don't necessarily care about the welfare of the animal. |

| I agree Ashleigh, If you truly want to find a home, charge enough so you know the person wants them, how is it people charge 900 for a six month old pup, you know what the rule of thumb is, after the pup turns 4 months there price is cut in half, so say you go to a pet store(Please don't just and example) and that cute little 8 week old puppy is 1,000, if he does not sell by 4 months old he goes down to 500. (I did dog grooming at a pet shop that's how I know this.) So when people on craigslist are trying to sell there 9 month old dogs for $900 I laugh. |

| Yeah we got Ares off of CL when he was 5 months, given I was trying to help his original owner since he was 8 weeks when she first wanted to get rid of him, but I finally took him when I saw his ad on CL. The excuses these people use are ridiculous. Ares' owner in particular didn't want him anymore because she refused to exercise him so he was digging out of their fence everyday and running loose around the neighborhood, which is easily prevented if you put effort into the dog and situation..Ugh. |

| I can't look at craigslist =/ Here in Tampa, it's either all pit bull pups who are being malnourished/sold WAY too early or people who don't want their dog anymore and want the price they paid. And it isn't even dogs. Horses. Cats. Reptiles. Someone on there was trying to sell a pit pup that OBVIOUSLY had worms for 400$ because it was 'blue'!
Anyways, that being said, I'm glad I found Jenna on craigslist, and her owners were incredibly reasonable and honest. |

| How about this one husky/pitt mix. Sad..... 6 month old dog that they no longer have time for. No shots????? Did they EVER have time for her if they couldn't spare to take her to the vet. Problem with her eyes due to the husky blue eyes? What would be the problem with blue eyes? ]http://limaohio.craigslist.org/pet/3335444307.html My hubby would say no way to her because of the pitt mix in her, otherwise I would go get her NOW! |

| They look too cute on a red dog??? I was wondering about the eyes also. Some people though think blue eye dogs are blind. Wonder what she looks like. |

Yeah, I think people don't understand it's natural in Huskies to have blue eyes. In Boxers, if you get a blue eyed dog, he/she is blind from birth. I'm not sure how many other breeds are like that. The same thing with white coat boxers, a lot of them are deaf. Though when I think Husky, I think blue eyes. It wasn't until I really started researching the breed that I realized they could even have brown eyes. So either she's blue eyed and sees fine or she's got eye problems they're blaming on the blue eyes. Which really makes no sense because depending on the type of pit bull, blue eyes are normal too. Blue nose pits I believe are the ones that commonly have blue eyes. They look amazing against those dark grey coats! |
