I had to look on craigslist to see what my area looked like for Huskys and I found this... It isnt as bad as soon of the ones i did see. But i want to ask her if she had a DNA test done on them to find this out. Only way you can tell she is a husky is because she has blue eyes??? My friends Auzzi has blue eyes so that doesn't make her a Australian shepherd? But she will also trade the dog for a gun but you're having heart issues?!?!!?!? Where does this make any sense?!?!?!

I love this part about the female: She is not spayed as, because of her beautiful coloring (that took generations to get), we always wanted her to have a litter of puppies.

This is absolutely disgusting and makes me sick. This guy obviously doesn't know how to plan for an emergency and letting this poor dog suffer is abuse.

Both of these make me angry. "She pretty much just wants to be inside all the time" WELL DUH! She wants to be with you, her pack! And what have you been doing with her for the past 2.5 years? Not to mention the 3 litters...
And then just getting rid of a senior dog, really? So sad.

Why would you get rid of a dog after 12 years!!!!! OMG! That is heartbreaking. I have to agree 3 litters later you want to give her up. The poor thing has been threw hell and back and you want to just get rid of her now like she is just trash... Sad

I think he doesn't want to pay for vet bills for the 12 year old I mean look how chunky she is and she is a senior and I'm sure she hasn't had the best care. As for the one that had the 3 litters I can't help but feel that she was being used as nothing more then a puppy pusher. Really you aren't going to have her UTD because she was pregnant. People make me sick.

I can't believe the nerve of these folks, asking for rehoming fees. Why would anyone pay you for giving up your dog? If anything, you should pay the new family for giving your dog a good home. It's not like they're a rescue group and are paying to take care of other sick or homeless dogs. /rant over.

I don't blame this person. What else can she do?

As for the "rehoming fee", I don't blame them for legitemaly reasons. Im sure this dog was well taken care of, and seeking compensation at least a bit is not much to get mad about. If you were in the same situation wouldn't you look to see if you can get a fee BEFORE just giving up and giving for free? Have to look at both sides....

The dog that is sick, there is no excuse for that. You got the dog and should have been saving money for "just in case" moments like this. Luckily my wife found a job and and parents look to be slowly be able to get back to their feet so I don't have to be paying 2 mortgages. Happy to say that Meeka is getting spayed Friday the 26th. Was getting tired of every dog trying to get up on her.

Craigslist Huskies - Page 18 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Craigslist Huskies   Craigslist Huskies - Page 18 EmptyWed Apr 17, 2013 3:30 pm

Personally i'd rather show receipt of say a vet appointment or something related to the care of the dog than line the pockets of someone giving away their dog due to inconvenience.

It's one thing if they are asking say the price of the spay/neuter like the shelters do, it's another thing entirely when they want hundreds of dollars for an adult pet they suddenly decide is too much trouble to find time for. I'd say 90% of the time they are getting rid of a pet it's an asinine reason.

If you are allergic, or deploying and don't have family or friends to watch your dog, those are good reasons in my mind. But when people decide oh i don't have time anymore or we have to move... i'm sorry i am a military wife and i grew up in a military family and moving is NOT a reason to get rid of your pet!!!

I have moved about every 3 to 4 years my entire life and we have NEVER moved somewhere that we couldn't find a place that took pets. Yes it's harder and yes it may cost more but that is part of the expense of having a pet just like vet care and food.

and to give a better picture when i grew up we never had less than 4 pets. Normally a couple of dogs and several cats. At one point we had 6 dogs , 3 great pyrenees, a labrador retriever, a peekapoo and a yorkie plus 3 himalayan cats and a couple of noisy love birds. We found places to rent and my mother was a single mom!

If you can't afford it then don't get one!!

Ok i'm going to step off my soap box lol and quit my rant.

I would like to agree with you but since we don't know all the details of the sitituation that person is experiencing its hard at least for me to judge (RE: family
Moving post). Loss of job, divorce, etc may have forced this family to moved out and live somewhere reasonable that unfortunately did not accept pets (I'm sure if more research was done they may have found a spot).

Sorry if i an adding more fuel to your rant. Smile. Just wanted to explain where I'm looking at this from.

PostSubject: Re: Craigslist Huskies   Craigslist Huskies - Page 18 EmptyWed Apr 17, 2013 4:21 pm

I have moved soooo many times, I dont think moving into an apt is a bad thing for a husky. As much as we all see most owners dont give a sh*** about their dogs and when they see a challenge they take the easy way out. I just lost my job a month ago. I can still support my family and my dog. Ok, lets back track that my 2 dogs and my cat. i feel like if this was my dog I would NEVER put her on craigslist. I would want a family or a friend to have her so one day I can get her back.

By all means thats is how I got Micole, a family had her before me for ONE WEEK! Decided she was too much to handle.... Just didnt want her anymore. I feel like you need to look into all factors before getting one. Maybe I am being a little harsh on this person ... But I still feel bad for all of them.

I have moved a lot as well and Shaqua has followed me everywhere. It makes me sad that people thing a pet is like a new car or toy. A dog is meant to be a part of your family. You don't get rid of your kids because they are "too much to handle".

Really? they can't push through a few more days to crate train her? Or find out why she doesn't like the crate? I hope if they ever have a child it has colic the whole first year!!!! Then they can complain about no sleep, although they'd probly put the child up for adoption as it infringes on their sleep . (sarcasm)

Sounds like if no one gets her she will be. She wants her gone by tonight.... Poor thing. There is a reason why she doesn't wanna be in there!! Mad
