| We have two rescue huskies (6 & 8 ) and they have been with us for most of their lives. They get along pretty well but the older is the alpha. They would stay in the yard for hours and at times play, but they both love being out when the weather is nice. The youngest liked being inside a little more but for the past several months, she will go outside and go to the bathroom and loves going out for walks, but other than that, she wants to be in the house sleeping in a room by herself. She will come if you call and is very friendly as always, but will not stay outside. We were all recently eating dinner on the patio and the weather was perfect and the youngest just stood by the door wanting to go inside.
Both dogs go to the vet regularly and do not have any health issues. I'll be happy to answer any questions in order to help figure this out. |

| My big male is like this. He has zero interest in being outside unless it is to be on a hike. He tolerates heat differently than the others but also laying on the harder ground of the deck bothers his hips more than the others as well. He likes the carpet in the bedrooms or his bed.
I would have his hips cleared, which isn't part of a normal check. Mostly if he is eating and pooping and still interested in his walks and not laboring for breath or lethargic I wouldn't worry about it. Huskies tend to like their alone time. Sometimes they value it more than other times. Not sure where you are located, but it's been hot here and mine are just as tired of summer as we are. _________________ |

| Currently 66 and sunny and none of mine want to be outside. Spider has put on the brakes in many places. 2 weeks ago in pueblo she refused to get out of the truck and splinter jumped out peed on the tire and jumped back in. Mine like the 0 to 50 degree weather colder or hotter they prefer to be inside. They also dont like it really windy which is frequent here. It snowed on the 23rd of September this year i had 4 very happy dogs |

| Random longshot questions- Could something scary have happened to her outside? Is your older dog getting possessive about the yard area?
That said, her behavior is my dog's "normal"! He has a dog door available to him all day, but he prefers to nap in the hall right outside my office, or if he wants serious sleep, he goes into our dark bedroom corner and sleeps there. He doesn't want to be outside unless I go with him. And he also loves walks.
The only weird thing to me, is that your dog wanted to go IN when everybody else was sitting outside! That, I would also find unusual. That's why I wondered if she could have been scared by something while outside, or maybe had a painful experience like a bee or wasp sting. |

| Now that i really think about it mine sorta had that issue. Not my girls but my non husky boys. Mine arnt ever shut outside but when shadow (shepherd) started going blind splinter (18 lb terrier)would not go out if he was out. And splinter still wont go out with shadow if its dark out. He got tripped on amd stepped on too many times i guess. Hasnt 100% resolved and probably never will.
Squirt has her own bedroom she is in most of the time. Shadow prefers his alone time with his dog bed in the bedroom. When we had company spider mostly hung out at the end of the hallway since the bedroom door was shut but all mine have antisocial quirks. Oh and splinter chased my cousin from the front door across the house up the stairs and had him cornered in the loft. I actually prefer the antisocial leave me alone types to the napoleon types. Mybe it was growing up with Tibetan mastiffs and rhodesian ridgebacks |
