So we ended up with some bone-in chuck roast (I usually get boneless, so I haven't run across this).  Are chuck roast bones okay for huskies?  I've read mixed reviews online.  Achilles is almost 6 and loves to eat EVERYTHING, but I wanted to make sure it was okay to give him this.

Also, is it better raw? Or should I boil it first.

I don't know about the type of bone, but you should never give a dog a cooked bone. They splinter easily and can be dangerous.

I would say since it's not a weight bearing bone, that it would be ok to give him under supervision. Definitely raw though. Boiling/cooking bones could splinter in his throat. Also check it out for sharp edges

Is this the circular bone with the marrow in the middle? You can give it- i'd give it raw but for you the meat does taste better when it's cooked with the bone lol! I wouldn't however give the bone cooked.

Just take it away as soon as he's gotten the marrow out and stripped the bone. They can crack teeth.

Raw beef bones are great. Since it is deer season soon I will have our butcher cut up all the ribs and medium sized bones for our dogs. He could also grind up all the extra meat parts we don't eat for them.  The bones are a natural stool hardener too.
