Adult dog eating puppy food? Empty
PostSubject: Adult dog eating puppy food?   Adult dog eating puppy food? EmptyMon Nov 04, 2013 12:37 pm

Please redirect me if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything.

Anyways, my husky is 13 months old, for the past month he's been on TOTW adult food, and before that he was on TOTW puppy from about 2 months old.

My girlfriend bought the food this time and accidentally got puppy food. It's a 45 lb bag so it will last about a month, is this ok to feed him or should I just accept the loss and go buy a bag of adult food?

The bag is already opened also.

Thanks!

I don't think it will hurt him all that much. I had my shepherd mix on puppy food for 3 months for weight gain and she was 12.

I was told by the people at petco you could keep them on puppy food up to two years old. They still may have some growing and developing to do still in there second year.

I don't think one bag of puppy food will hurt him at all..however, I know Petsmart/Petco and other stores that sell dog food here let you return the food for any reason even if it is open. You could always check into that and exchange for adult if you really don't want to feed it.

Thanks for suggestions, I just decided to buy a bag of adult food and give him 3/4 adult and 1/4 puppy for now and it seems to be working fine.
