We are getting our puppy in a week he'll be 8 weeks old. I bought "taste of the wild" dog food but it seems I bought the adult one. I wanted to know 1) should i not feed him this and buy puppy food instead and 2) when should i switch him to this?

I think the general rule is to transition to adult food when your puppy is about a year old.  You probably should see what puppy food he is being fed now and get some of that.  If you want to feed him something else, you can get a small bag of the original food and gradually introduce the new food.  That reduces chances of upset stomachs and...well, poop issues!

Which one did you get? Some are all life stages

I know TOTW has an all stages food, so check to see if that's what you got. I switched my pup over when she was six months old, there really wasn't much of a difference in the nutrient levels and she did fine on the adult food. But its always best to start off with the food they are currently eating and then transition over after about two weeks, it helps with the settling in process.

My vet said if you use a good quality food then you could start the transition to adult at 10 mo to a year and suggested to go at 10 mo with Bourbon since he is a larger dog for the breed already 54 lbs so he should top out at the top end of the standards.
From what I understand the puppy food has higher calories, higher nutrients and some have the gluco/chon for the joints and higher vitamins in them. I would assume that a TOTW would be closer to a regular puppy food. You could always buy puppy food and use the adult for as training treats and toy stuffers.
