I might just get one Huskie first and see how it goes and if it goes well enough ill get another one that's not the same Gender i might do that after i get the first Huskie Fixed so around when my first Huskie is 6-7 months i if i remember right. Or i might just see how the first week go's with the first one then fine another breeder and bring my first huskie and see if he gets along with the new puppy or see which one he gets along with and get that one or just the get the other one who i just think it feels right for me to pick and Ill look it up on reasons why not to get litter mates thanks for the tips.

No not yet I was planning on getting one when i move into this apartment that double check on if i can have a Huskie and the Owner said i can have up to 2 Huskies so When i move there in the next few months Im going too get one, I know you might ask me why I'm getting a huskies in a apartment but it will be okay cause I'm a very active person that takes walks in the morning before work and takes walks after work and spend time with my baby sister so she will get all the exercise they needs, If i have to they can run around at my mom's house they have a 8 foot fence. Also i love to go camping and Hiking so they will be fine i might get a third once i get my own house depending on what happens.

thats the short reason why Smile there is lots of research that looks into how they bond with each other and how important it is to keep training separate with them so they also bond with you. think of it like how human twins bond its kind of the same.
it would be best to get one puppy and train it till its "good" so that when you get the 2nd it picks up the good and not the bad. or just adopt an older husky that will have some training to get your feet wet with the breed Smile our 2 were both adopted and have been a dream.

Questions for the OP:

What is your budget?
The first year each dog can easily cost $1000 or more. Besides the initial cost there is spaying, micro chipping, vet visits, vaccinations, obedience class, equipment, destroyed possessions, and other things. And that assumes the puppy does not do something foolish and get injured or sick.

Does it have to be a puppy? It will only be a puppy for a few months and a dog for 14 years.
If you get an adult dog, it is probably house trained, spayed/neutered, had its shots, past the puppy crazies, and you know the personality.

Have you ever owned a dog before? What were your experiences with it?
I think Sibes are difficult for a first dog.

Have you taken a dog through obedience classes?
Obedience class is the best gift you can give your dog and yourself. Plan on $100 - $200.

Where where you planning to get the dog?
A breed-specific rescue or your local humane society will work with you to find a dog that fits your lifestyle. They are also a great reference for information about the dog. Usually a pet store animal is overpriced, of lesser quality, and once you get it, you are stuck with whatever genetic problems it has.

There is no wrong breed of dog. Huskies may look nice but another type may suit you better.

Huskies are on a lot of apartments "banned" lists not because of aggression, but because of destruction.
I have paid the price$$ of not giving enough exercise to my little girl a couple times.
Did she care I had 3 tests and a program due that week... nope lol

Luckily my dad passed on the diy gene to me so I managed to fix much myself. Redid all the molding in my bathroom last time.

I can handle $1,500 dollars or more for a dog a year.
I just want it to be a puppy If i don't fine a puppy that fits me i might get a order husky puppy i just really want to raise one from when it is born into it dies from old age and such.
I have grew up around dogs my whole life, big dogs, small dogs, puppies, i even when through the care of one my dogs going through birth.I have pit bulls, pugs, bulldogs,Border Collie,Labs,Terriers,Dachshunds, poodles,Maltese, I even when through 2 years of Vet tech classes so i think i can handle a Siberian husky. Those dogs that I named there were not just mine, they were family members so i been around them had to take care of them.My Uncle has this very very very Hyper Jack Russle that I take on Jogs with me every day, And I love to go for walks and such everyday and such and so far i couldn't fine a dog in a Rescue in my area yet that can handle being around another dog and small Dogs and a 2 year old little girl.Yes i have took a dog thru obedience classes before my Border Collie that i had that was my first dog and I took my Uncles Jack Russel through it even tho it so work once it was this hyper dog that didn't listen to anyone now its tamer then any dog i know so i think i can handle a husky. If i can fine a healthy puppy from a rescue ill do i just don't want to get a dog and its sick all the time cause it came from a Dog Mill and i didn't know it.

I found 2 apartments in my area that allows them they just don't allow the Alaska Malamute, they said that i was allowed to have a Siberian husky i just cant go over to of them and Yes i understand that and these 2 apartments come with backyards with 7-8 feet fences also If i have to through my work day my mom can let her and such during my dad when I'm at work and the exercise isn't a problem cause i don't getting up 2 hours earlier then i would for work to take a big long jog with my dogs and take them out for a good 1-2 hours jog walk in the afternoon and such and When i own a dog i usually save money just in case something does happened and i have a friend and a father that can fix almost anything.

Dang apartment with 8 foot fences thats nice. I wish I had that lol. I'd just be scared someone would steal my baby, but I am paranoid like that.

Sorry to get off topic but I felt 8 foot fences at an apartment was worthy of an exclamation lol.

do you understand that a puppy will only let you sleep a few hrs a night off and on with potty training, crate training and will need to be let out every few hrs during the day. do you have someone or can you do that for the first 6months or so? also young puppies can not do LONG walks or jogs, that does not start till they are at least a yr old so you need to find other ways to wear them out. all the research in the world will not prep you for a puppy, but hang around here and you will learn how hard raising a husky puppy really is, there are tons of im losing my mind stories on here.

Yes i know they cant jog or run that much when its a puppy not until it's older and Yes I'm aware of that I won't get much sleep when its puppy and having to take it out every other hour for it to use the bathroom and to get the puppy use to its crate and to teach it that they have to go to the bathroom outside not in the house and I have my sister that works night shifts at the hospital so she will let them out during the day while I'm at work and I can also take them out when i have a lunch break from work on my work days,My sister has dogs so they most likely were out from playing with them and cause i get paid very well and not that many hours and i Know all what to do.Also i love playing with dogs so they will get plenty of exercise to wear out there energy.I don't really sit still all that long so they will be tired out before the day ends everyday so that's not a problem and I done a lot of thinking about what type of dog i want and research and I even ask my vet tech and some of my friends that do have huskies so i been around Huskies. There times when i was still in high school that i had to house sit there huskies during the weekends and had to house sit them for 1 month when my friends sibling was in the hospital in a different state so If i can handle that I can handle doing for the rest of my life. Also I'm going to college to be a Vet and being vet tech i know what most illnesses for Huskies and such are and how to treat it So i think I will be very good fit for them.

Quick question - are there any other dogs living at your house right now? Another thing to keep in mind would be parvo and other diseases that the older dogs can track in. Could you handle keeping their outdoor exposure to an absolute minimum while dealing with the "joys" of puppyhood?

I'm not sure how other people have done (or if they needed to at all)... From what I know, you'll need to be very careful of where you take your puppy since it can't go anywhere that's heavily trafficked by other dogs (Dog Parks, Trails etc) as the puppy can end up with parvo or other not-so-pleasant ailments. You'll need to make sure that if you take them to a petstore (Petsmart, Petco etc) that they'll need to be in the cart since they shouldn't be walking on the floor.

If I were to bring a puppy into my home, I'd have to keep both their exposures to heavily trafficked area to a minimum - that way the pup would be as directly and indirectly safe as I could make it.

Okay I understand then i have to made sure to be careful when its puppy. So it would be better that i don't take it over to my sister's that much or be careful cause she has 2 dachshunds.

What do you mean by: heavily trafficked by other dogs?

Areas where a lot of dogs would go. One of the best examples would be dog parks. Smile If there are dogs that go to the schoolyard and play there a lot, that would also be a heavily trafficked area. You should also be careful around trails where people take their dogs as well.
