| My Nikita loves to go to the dog park today it is 41 and a bit breezy but is whining as she wants to go and run and jump in the pools there I am afraid if she gets wet and runs around she may get sick. should I be worried about this or just take her and keep a close eye on her?
Thank You Scott |

| I would try to keep her out of the water with 41 degree temps. My 2 hate water so I never have that issue! Can you empty the water levels in the pools? _________________ |

| yeah you can dump them out they are just kiddie pools but does not stop others from refilling them when it is 72 i do not mind as it cools her down but right now I would not want her in it. I wish she did not like it soo much...lol |

| I wouldn't worry to much. Running around and playing will keep her warm and the water will help her from over heating even in cool weather. My huskies will go and play in the rain even when its in the 30's. |

| I wouldn't worry either, she will probably not go in the water because of how cool it is . Mine will go out and roll around in the snow, soaking his fur when its 10-30 deg outside, to the point where I have to dry him off when he comes inside sometimes . |

| Dogs don't catch cold like humans do, so it'd say it's fine. Callie was at the park yesterday swimming in the lake despite it being 45 out. If your dog was a chihuahua, then yes, keep them out of the water as their bodies can't regulate body temperature like bigger dogs' can. Just like if you lived up in NY you wouldn't have to put a jacket on your husky when it goes out to play in the snow.
I definitely think that at the park, they're running around and getting all worked up so much, that the cold water is a blessing to them, kind of like how you can play soccer in 30 degree weather and still break a sweat. |

| We have a 6 yr old male who like all huskies loves to run. After a trip to the off leash dog park, and a little nap, he limps when he rises and it continues most of the day. No other time does he show pain or hesitate to run around, jump, and act like a puppy. Anyone experience this or have suggestions? He is due for his annual exam soon so I'll bring it up to our vet. Just don't want to spend tons of $$$ for testing, x-rays, etc. if not necessary. Thanks |

| Mav1016 it just sounds like he over exerts himself a bit I wouldnt worry to much, maybe give him a little rub down when you get him home, used to do this for my husky mix after she played with my aunts puppy.
