| Only 8 more days to go until we get our baby girl. I'm so excited, I don't know how I will survivor the next 8 days. Just based on the pictures we have decided to go with the puppy on the right, I just love her eye brows. She has really cool eyes too. One is brown and the other is half brown/half blue. Of course once we get there and meet them both we may change our minds.
We are still undecided on a name, we have a huge list but none of them feel right. Everyone says we will think of a name when we meet her, sure hope so because if we don't she just may end up being called dog. lol
Anyone have travel tips for an 8 week old puppy? It will be able a hour drive for us. Crate? no crate? Should we stop a couple times to potty?
Thanks again! You all have been wonderful! |

| If nothing still feels right, give it a couple days and come back to it. If you over-think everything starts sounding funny. Like sometimes when you try to spell a word and then it starts looking really, really weird! ..maybe that's just me.. Mine fit in a cat carrier that a friend lent us at 8 weeks. It was a 6+ hr drive for us though. She ended up laying in my lap almost the entire way. I actually think it helped her know who "mommy" was, cause even the first night she was glued to me. I'd say if it's just an hour, riding in the backseat cuddled-up would be fine The breeder will probably not feed or water them before they go, so you should be fine driving straight home. Don't stop at rest stops if you must stop, lots of dangerous germs there. Honestly, mine refused to pee the entire way home, I even have her a ton of water. She just held it. They've been torn away from everything the know, and might not feel comfortable enough to pee. Mine didn't until later after we got home, and settled a little. Or they might pee out of excitement or fear or something. Bring towels and wet wipes and some goodies. Sorry for typos/rambling- on my phone and too lazy to edit, lol. |

| No problem, getting a puppy is super exciting These 8 days will be torture! Maybe you could lay a bag or something leak-proof on her lap, then towels on that for the puppy to lay on, if the pee really scares her lol I'd guess it'll be fine though. |

| My youngest daughter is only 8 so anything that involves pee/poop grosses her out. Heck, my oldest is 18 and she's the same way. Things like that have never bothered me. I grew up taking care of my Grandmother (I was 11 when she got sick), then I worked in a nursing home. I really don't care for vomit or mucus but pee/poop isn't an issue. lol!

| We had a 2 hour ride home with Lucian. I did bring a carrier with me, which was a good thing. I thought I would just hold him in my lap, but he was a bit freaked out and making a lot of noise, lol. He wouldn't stop squirming around either. So he landed up in the carrier. I think that made him feel a bit safer, cause he only had a few whining out bursts the rest of the way home. He did land up throwing up in the carrier, but I had towels in it, so it was an easy clean up. I think he was just freaked out. My husband actually passed the place, and I freaked at him, "it's right there!!!" Lol. I thought I was going to blow up with excitement when we finally got there. |

| We had about a three hour drive when we got Bode. He rode on my lap the whole time. We stopped once, he peed outside and then right back into the car! Good luck, it's exciting! |

| I guess I got you all beat We drove 4 hours to get Kerian (our rescue) she was 2 years old in a shelter and we fell in love with her from the sad picture the shelter posted on Petfinder. Sorry didn't mean to highjack. I am looking forward to pictures of your new baby. It gives me puppy fever but I don't want to housetrain a puppy.. Have fun and let us see pictures of you new pup. |

| I got all of your times combined beat I think! 9 1/2 hours one way! In all seriousness - I've waited a year and a half for my girl (would have been another year and a half but decided on a pup from an earlier litter instead of waiting at the suggestion of the breeder). The days will go by really quick I promise . I thought the last week waiting would be terrible but by Wednesday I was like "OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ALMOST HERE". Now actually that I'm about 4 hours out from leaving time is dragging. Good luck and can't wait to see the puppy! _________________ |

| We did a 7 hour drive with Nova, he did okay. I drove and Will sat with him in the back. We brought a towel, collar, a toy and some water. He was asleep most of the time and didn't whine but once when we where saying goodbye to the breeders. |

| We'll have an almost 3-hour drive (each way) when we go to get our Luna next weekend. We're planning to bring one of the blankets from our bed (which our other dog and both cats sleep on), so that she can start getting acclimated to the smells of her new home. :-) |
