| So we dropped the dogs off at a friend's house on thur night and on Friday we headed out of town for our anniversary weekend. I check in on Friday to find out Sierra left a puddle on Danielle's rug in the kitchen (just like last time)well I think it was then Friday night that Sierra then pooped in her bedroom just after being left out side before bed, at this point I am telling D that we were soooooo sorry and that she could use our carpet cleaner if she needed to. Then Ken and I are enjoying dinner on Sat night when I get a text that the dogs killed a Squirrel! She is not sure who got it first but all 3 dogs had blood on their noses and my guess it was a team of Sierra and Jack and Gunny just got in the mix of it. They have never gotten anything before and here she is doing us a HUGE favor by watching our dogs and they are causing all these issues! Thankful she is not bothered by it and told us she will still watch them for us! We got home and Jack was so depressed to not have his side kick Gunny around anymore that he just laid around all night curled up in a ball. I told him in 3 weeks Gunny will be here and they can play again. _________________

| Sitka's Kills:
Bunnies: 4 Squirrels: 2 Birds on the ground: 1 Birds out of mid air: 3 Goats: 1 (I'm counting it as a kill since he brought it down and all, the only reason he didn't kill it was because I threw him off of it. For the effort he gets a kill) Cats: 0 (Don't know how this hasn't happened yet) Butterflies: I've witnessed at least 10
I feel like he needs to have little symbol emblazoned on his collar for every kill just like the old WWII planes had. _________________ Posts made by me are not associated or approved by itsahuskything.com. | We have a squirrel that is pushing his luck every day. We have wires that go across the backyard, and he does his trapeze act across the driveway then jumps into the tree branches. Drives Nanuk crazy, but Mika, now....she's VERY patient and the minute he falls......I may be writing about HER first kill!!!!! |

| Well so much for hoping, after we returned from our trip home i found out Sierra got 2 small birds learning to fly in D's yard. and then this morning more drama. jack was let out at 5:45am nothing. we got up and ken left them out at about 6:20 and i was still upstairs. i went to use the bathroom and all of a sudden i heard ken screaming, i ran down the stairs to see out the window and was in shock, i got out side grabbed the dogs drug them inside and closed the sliding glass doors (bad idea) there was a kitten on the ground struggling for its life, looks like they did not break skin but you could tell it was not good, ken and i were talking about what to do and how the small kitten got in the yard in the first place. i turned around to go inside to get a box and realized in Jack's craziness of jumping on the door he locked us out. im still in my Pj's and ken was dress and ready to leave for work but not ready enough to have his phone or keys and the front door was still locked. we were stuck. after a few ideas of how to get into the house ken checked our garage and it seems even if the door is closed we were able to open it a foot or 2 enough for ken to squeeze under (i was not dressed to be doing that shit) unfortunately our garage does not lead to the house because it was closed off before we moved in but we could get the ladder. ken was able to climb into our up stairs window and let me in this took about 45 min. so much for my morning work out and thank goodness it was trash day and the poor kitten did not make it. not sure if it was a stray or someones cat. just another reason i hate that people think it is ok to let cats out to room the streets. _________________ |

| Stupid cat. Foreign things finding a way into our yard face guaranteed destruction. The lockout part of the story sure was entertaining.
Kosmo kills full grown birds. He hides next to objects and waits for them to fly by from tree to tree. Then on the low part of their flight arc, he launches straight up and picks them right out of the air. It's a Husky thing. |

| well Sierra and Jack killed a 2nd kitten in the back yard. last one was way back in the spring i think. this one happened with out me hearing a thing, i was doing wash so i might not have heard it. but i looked out back and saw S&J in my garden mouthing something, i walked out to look and sure enough it was a dead kitten, so much for an uneventful Sunday morning i just hope it died fast and not to much pain, i noticed a blood spot under its belly but that was about it. Sierra had some punctures on the top of her nose, that i cleaned up. im sure the kittens are coming from the house across the street that is feeding the strays that keep having babies.... just not sure how they are making it to the back yard and this one was in the garden that is fenced off with chicken wire.... _________________ |

| Oh no, poor kitty Mya and Kody almost killed a hurt pigeon that was in our yard on Thursday when I let them out after work. Kody found it first and I was able to drag him in the house. Then Mya realized what was going on and was guarding it for a while. I had to get a rake and block the pigeon from her and somehow hubby got the leash on her and dragged her in. She was totally guarding the poor pigeon At least she didn't tear it apart I guess.... |

| There was another dead squirrel in the yard the other morning. That makes 2 in less than a week. Either the squirrels are getting slow or the dogs are getting fast... _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! | Zander is kinda funny when it comes to hunting. If it doesn't move, he just stares at it super crazy with that hilarious head tilt. If the dogs try going after it, he'll protect whatever it is. Once it was a kitten. He was just SO confused because it wouldn't run away! LOL. He protected it from the other dogs until I went to get it.
He won't kill something if we introduce it as a pack member. He played with the bunny we had, the birds, little puppies and cats, no issues. Even outside. He knows the word 'Baby', which is our "easy" or "soft" command for anything small or little that he needs to be gentle with.
He HAS killed some baby birds and adult birds outside, one pet bird(personally, I think the parrot committed suicide), and hunted down some moles. Anything that moves outside, he'll go for it if I let him. "Go get it." So anything he doesn't know and moves outside is fair game. Mostly. As long as Momma gives the OK. |

| Well all i can say is STUPID CAT!!!!! after getting up after our late night fri. we let the dogs outback and went up stairs to start getting ready for our "hike" we hear jack going crazy and looked out the window to see a cat on the top of the fence in the corner of ours and the neighbors yard hissing. both dogs going crazy and what does the cat do, not turn around and go somewhere else NO he thinks he can make it across OUR fence so ken runs downstairs im watching going shit i need shoes then the cat gets halfway and JUMPS INTO OUR YARD, im now booking it down the steps in my socks and out the back door, Ken has sierra and is screaming at me to get jack, i get jack and the cat is now gone out the gate! stupid fucking cat, so we get the dogs inside and go front looking for the cat since sierra has fur on her mouth and ken said jack had also grabbed the cat, all the neighbors are out side looking at us!!!! one asks if they got the cat and were like yes they did, was it yours? and she was like no ours passed in nov. so we think it was the stray that has been hanging around.... we thought it would die but we think we saw it sunday in our front yard. oh these dogs and cats.... _________________ |

| I heard frantic barking once and went outside... Zephyr had killed a possum! I find squirrels all the time, and sometimes a bird or two. I was kind of happy though- possums are an issue in our neighborhoods even though we live smack in the middle of the city. |

| My pups haven't gotten anything yet (other then moths), but the two cats that showed up a few months ago left me feathers and a leg in the dish I feed them in. I thought that was nice of them.
Shadow killed the neighbors bunny once. They were cool about it since it was old and they were waiting for it to die. It went quick. |

| i am a member of a few other forums...and this one is the only one I am a member of that does not censor out fowl language. It is not horrible on this forum but I have seen a few posts that are absolutely littered with it (don't remember who nor did i pay much attention). I have learned a lot from this forum and greatly enjoyed it...but the fowl language is one downfall I have noticed that shows up now and then. Not trying to be difficult and I probably won't say anymore about it. Just wanted to get that out there. |

| Dakota got some bunnies but I really don't think he intended to hurt them. He carried them in his mouth as gentle as possible and never tried to eat them. It was weird how careful he was with them but they died becuase they were way too young. He never chased any animals in all the times we camped. He did have a staring contest with a raccoon one camping trip. It was pretty comical.
Willow and Aspen would go after the small animals if I let them. They watch the birds, bunnies and squirrels with way too much focus. I always have them on a leash so they have never had the opportunity but Willow did get a butterfly on one of the trails we were on. I guess it deserved it for flying in front of Willow's face. |
