Tommy took Isis to the Vet this morning for x-rays, as she was once again acting funny. Sure enough she ate ANOTHER stone. More surgery. At least this time, no emergency fees, as it is our regular Vet. STOOPID sled-head did it again! We have been watching her closely, trying to prevent this, but apparently, not good enough! So back to the cone of shame, and from now on, it loks as if she has to remain on a lead attached to one of us. The Vet is supposed to call after the surgery, around noon or so. I hope everything goes ok....

Both. We have tried to pick all of them up around the carport, but until we see if it's the white stone or just a plain ol rock she dug up, we won't know for sure. Arrrggghhhh!!!!

You know, I have found myself using that same exact phrase today. Also the "stupid sled-head" one, too! Thnaks.

Did she listen to you any better than me? Thanks for being with her. Dr. Lindsey said she was not a meanie when she was coming out of it. She obviously knows quality people when she meets them! Isis is out of surgery and recovering nicely. Dr. says she may be able to come home tomorrow. I am hoping so! It is too quiet when she's not up to snuff! Apparently, the incision isn't as long as last time, since they didn't need to get into her stomach, only her intestine. And the bill, while more than we want to have to put out, will not be equal to the $1440 we put out for her 2 1/2 weeks ago. (I am wincing as I type this).

It sounds like you've got quite the project on your hands. I'm not sure how I would go about dealing with that little quirk. She's probably lightning quick and picks up things when it looks like she's just sniffing.

Exactly! I think I know exactly when she got this one. I was out with them, talking to the neighbor across the fence. I looked over at her, her head went back and before I could say her name, "GULP"! It occured to me a little while ago that she had done that, just two days ago. So, here I am with them outside and it still happened! Little girl tries my patience!

Isis is now back home with us. She is resting and recuperating. Half the amount of stitches. (Actual sutures, not staples) No cone of shame this time. Brit said she was a pretty good girl. What exactly she meant by "pretty good" I am unsure! It was a rock she dug up, not a decorative one.....pretty big one! We have discussed the issue of what to do about this....we have discussed muzzling. My concern with that is that they play very roughly together, and mightn't she feel vulnerable, unable to "protect" herself? I do not want to mentally scar her, it's been a rough 2 1/2 weeks as it is, and I'm afraid that a muzzle would do that. Our other thought was to have her on the long lead all the time, with one of us on the other end. I am at a loss as to what to do! Not only is it getting expensive, more importanly, it's got to be rough on her poor little body! I am glad that once again, she came through it ok. My little girl worries me so!
