| We brought Titus to a vet behaviorist yesterday and got the result that he have high level of anxiety and stress probably due to the abuse he had when he was a puppy. He is harmless to anyone he trust but may be dangerous if strangers comes up to him abruptly and frighten him. We had him on some meds now to lower his stress. It seems to work as he didn't give much reaction to a dog that barks and growl at him this morning. Usually he will whine when he sees a dog. The vet behaviorist said that she will write in the report that Titus is a special case dog and will do better on the meds. She may recommend him to be declared as a dangerous dog as things like this is really strict in VIc, but she thinks that we are responsible owners that will keep him with his meds and behavior modification classes and she believe that in time he will not be that frighten anymore. So far I have not heard from the council. The incident happened last Saturday. I don't know how long will it take for them to contact me. Also, I got some reference from Titus previous trainer and the workers from the pet store that we go to usually to prove his behavior. Titus previous trainer said that Titus has some nervous deposition especially around men and some dogs. He may lunge at some dogs that rushes at him but seldom show any aggression and that the trainer shouldn't have him tied up to a bench. The worker from the pet store wrote that Titus is a sweet little boy that is nervous each time he came in but never show any sign of aggression before around people and the dogs in the store that came in. He just doesn't like people coming up at him from the back and will usually moves away. And that I have always kept him leash close to me when we were in the store. Hopefully all these will help save his life. |

| The council came and took Titus away. We will have a formal interview tomorrow about the incident. If there is no evidence, Titus will be release. If there is evidence there will be a court case on the 27th November. During this time, Titus will have to stay there. |

| Sounds like you are doing everything right on your end. I am hoping and praying that you can get Titus back quickly. I know this has got to be a very emotional and hard time right now. Be strong and keep your wits about you. We are all hoping for a positive outcome. _________________ |

| I hope nothing but the best for you and Titus. I find it difficult to feel that it is fair that Titus has to be away from his home during this ordeal. I hope the council sees the good in him and he can come home to his family in a quick manner.

| Thinking of you guys and hoping for a speedy return of Titus. His condition is certainly not going to be aided by being kennelled away from home. I hope they at least continue to give him his meds.

| I am so sorry this is happening, where do they take him? And who cares for him? My only concern is they will have a man taking care of him and he will be frightened and show aggression. I hope they are compasionate to his needs and dont provote the behavior knowing he is a special needs animal. It wasnt his fault that he was abused and has a trust issue, who wouldnt. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Titus, i cant imagine what you are feeling right now. |

| I'm sorry, I don't know what else to say. As "wrong" as it may be... This is why I would have sent him off. A kennel environment like that is a terriblle place to be assessed and "cared" for. I truly hope you can get him back quickly. Perhaps you can have some behaviorist a contact wherever he is being held and say this is a bad place for him to be, with his medical condition? _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! | I agree with Kristina, he isnt going to be himself in a kennel. He needs to be released, even if it would be to a behaviorist or vet and monitored there. |

| The animal management officer that came and took Titus was a women. She is also aware that he is frighten of men. I gave her his meds in which she assure me that it will be given on time. He will be in the Lost Dogs Home of Melbourne for the moment. She called me last night after putting Titus there. They got a few women to play with him and calm him down. He was a little stress but he never show any sign of aggression, no bark, growl, snarl or snap. Which is really good than what she expected. The only thing he did was pushing his head against the door to try to get out. |

| Well thats good to hear Titus is doing okay in there. Of course its BS that he is there in my , and likely everyones, opinion. Sorry to hear about all of this, I can't even come to think how it is for you guys dealing with this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and titus. How is lycan doing with all of this? Not trying to take away from Titus and the situation at hand btw. |

It's unfortunate that he has to be away, but it sounds like he is handling it realtivelly well. |

| Lycan was whining a lot. Looking for Titus around. Don't want to be alone etc. He is looking out the window for Titus.. I read the vet report. There are no bite marks on the poodle. Broken neck. Titus did not bite it. He just grabbed the poodle but because it's so small, the neck broke. They will prosecute us but the council will only suggest declaring Titus dangerous. They think the Magistrate will probably just go with their suggestion and not put him down. Of course, the Magistrate does have the right to put him down if want to. The council also said that as I am a responsible owner, they will put this in to the court for consideration. The animal management officer was talking to me about how and when to send Titus to Malaysia. Does that mean she also expect that Titus will be only be declared as a dangerous dog? She said she will process the dangerous dog thing and court documents as soon as possible so that it does not delay our time to go to Malaysia. Anyway, we still have to wait for the court date on 27th November. |

| So you will find out the Magistrate's decision on November 27th then? Sorry that Titus has to be away for so long. That is good news that they are recommending just a label. Everything looks to be going in Titus' favor but I know it ain't over till it's over. Poor Lycan also. We will continue to keep you all in our thoughts and prayers daily. _________________ |

| Is Titus going to be kept there until the court date? That's a long time for a dog that really doesn't need to be stressed anymore than necessary.
Here's my question. If titus never bite down or broke the skin how can he be classed as a dangerous dog? It would sound like to me that it's a case of why little tiny dogs and bigger dogs should not be in close proximity to one another unless supervise constantly. Meaning it's the trainer's fault not Titus.
Dogs grab each others neck constantly as part of proper play. That's what their mothers teach them early on. This could happen to any of us that go to dog parks where the irresponsible little dog owners bring their dog into the large dog area "because they're tough". It freaks me out constantly and I usually comment to them that they shouldn't be there.
Sounds like a plain and simple accident with no aggressive intent. |
