| Let me start by saying I'm SO happy that Trillion is getting the surgery and that so many people have been so kind and generous... and that you've been trying to raise the money. But allow me a moment to be the bitchy voice of reason... I really and truly hope that this has taught you a little about having an emergency fund. I would personally have never adopted Koda or Hailey if I didn't have a credit card or emergency fund to be able to handle a situation like this. I know this has been incredibly difficult for you and your boyfriend to go through, and Trillion, but there is a reason many rescues and breeders refuse to sell to young people. I know I'm going to get flamed for it...but there is a lesson to be learned and I just hope that everyone sees it. Trillion is in my thoughts for a successful surgery _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Just go hug her and tell her you love her. She will know. Dogs are smart like that. |

Trillion is in my thoughts for a successful surgery I'm going to agree with this 100%. I waited until I was in my thirties and had enough time and resources to devote to a dog, with emergency money put aside, pet insurance, etc. I say this as someone who has had to see huskies in your area given up at shelters with serious injuries because someone didn't plan for medical emergencies - some of which had to be put down. I hope these donations help you get back on your feet with her, knowing that you still have $1300 to pay off. Best of luck and please keep us posted - we wish Trillion well! Are there any expenses for followup xrays in the next 3 months, what is recovery time and does the fee cover pain meds/bandage changes for after the surgery? |

| I've been wanting to say what Tori said since this started, so I am thankful she said it as I always end up looking like an ass, haha. I got Koda at 18 years old and it was really difficult to convince them to give him to me. But I had been saving as much as I could while working my last 2 years of high school to have a dog fund and showed them I had a few grand saved up to cover at least the first 2 years as some emergencies. Just like having children, I think you need to make sure you are financially capable of providing what this dog who depends on you for everything may need.
However, I am glad for Trillion's sake so many people have kind hearts so she can have the best quality of life possible. Please keep us updated in regards to how she does and when the surgery should be. |

| I also agree with everything Tori said .. We would not have our two dogs if we could not afford emergencies with them. Being we are a bit older we have the funds to cover emergencies and everyday care for our two dogs.
Do keep up informed on her care I wish you and Trillion the best..
I would also like to suggest that if you come up with more funds than need to pass any on the either a rescue or someone else needing help with a dog.
DO pass this kindness of others along to those in need. |

| We do not have a whole lot of savings for emergencies...that's why we got insurance. We got a $0 deductible and 90% coverage. thankfully we have great family member and if we have to we will be able to borrow. But, we know we need it. Routine has never been an issue, but we know better than to assume there could never be an accident. |

| The important lesson is just to always have a backup plan. When you accept an animal into your life, you are taking on a huge responsibility. You are responsible for another living being. Unfortunately, we can't always rely on the kindness of strangers. When we first got Koda, we didn't have thousands saved, but we had a credit card...and I would have used it in a heartbeat and paid it off as I could.
You just never know what can happen, and having a plan in place for emergencies is something that NONE of us should overlook, regardless of how young or old we are. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| We had an emergency fund, which grew by the weeks. but a month or two ago my boyfriend got in a car crash and he had to get a new car, which he pulled some of the funds. and we were left with 400 dollars, which we used when going to her three appointments. but I know we should save up and we are looking into insurance for her. at her first apt at 8 weeks old we looked into it but figured with out emergency fund we would be okay.. ovb. we were wrong |

| I'm sooooo glad she can get her surgery! Yaaaay! I do agree with what Tori said. I also got my first Husky, Embry right after I turned 18. I didn't have an emergency fund, but I have tons of credit cards for emergencies and my MIL would do anything to help if someone got injured. |

| Happy to hear everything is working out for the better.
Trillion is lucky to have owners who care as much as you guys do, and in turn your both extremely lucky you found the forums. I think it goes without saying the people on this forum are extremely kind, generous, and would do anything for animals they can help.
Kelly and I wish all three of you the very very best.
Best of luck to Trillion and we hope for a safe and speedy recovery.

| While I agree with Tori in principal I want to say given your current situation I want to commend you for finding a way to get Trillion help. So many people would have either felt so much despair or just not cared enough to find a way to help their dog.
I've had to help dogs first hand get into rescue or worse save them from the shelter that would have took far less effort both financially and organizationally that you showed in helping Trillion. I wished all owners loved their animals like that which you have shown.
I also want to thank everyone on this forum for being such a family that they were willing to help. |

| Okay so I just got off the phone with the vet Trillion has an appointment today for a pre-surgery assessment, it's at 3:45.
HOWEVER. He called before scheduling the surgery with the specialist that has to come in because he said the specialist was telling him that it was rare for a 6 month old to have a torn cruciate and that he wants him to re-assess her since it's been about a week. he asked if she was still limping/eating/in pain. and i told him, she walks with a weird serve and slight limp. she eats a LITTLEEEE less than normal. but drinks like its going out of style (Tramadol side effect) and she still crys randomly when moving. but since the rimadyl has been given she has been great. and in between dosages she starts to kinda just be stiff and not move i give her her meds (at night time when it's due) and shes back to "normal"
I don't know he just seems unsure now about her diagnoses. So we will see. |
