| I'm so at my wits end wit the peeing on the paws. He's been doing this for probably 6 months. I am so afraid to wash him to frequently I don't want to dry out his skin or fur. I know that you have to be very diligent about their skin care. But I don't want my little Roman to smell like urine.
He does not lift his leg and I think it because when he was 4 or 5 months old he tried, fell on his face, and I laughed. I know I should get the mean mom award, but it was so cute, funny and he wasn't hurt.
How do you combat this? Is it possible to teach him to lift his leg? Does he only squat because his older "sister" squats? |

| Kody rarely lifts his leg. He ends up peeing on his front paws sometimes also. I just wipe them down with baby wipes. I don't think you can teach them to "lift". Kody only lifts on walks when he's marking, but that's about it. |

| Kale used to pee on his front legs when he was a pup, but he grew out of it. Iv noticed that he sometimes does if he has been holding it for a while and the stream is heavier, so maybe taking him out more often will help. When he does get pee on his paws or legs I also just wipe it off with doggy/baby wipes. (he has never lifted his leg, at least not that Ive ever seen lol he does the squat-and-lean ) |

| He'll come around Biko at almost 3 yrs of age still often just leans forward to take a whiz. If he lifts his leg its barely a inch or two off the ground, unless were out on walk then you would swear he was trying t o pee on the top of every car parked along the street. |

| Frankie use to pee on his fron paws all of the time and still does sometimes. Like the others I would wipe him down with the doggie/baby wipes. But honestly if he does it, he starts licking to clean his paws as soon as we walk in the door. |

Ditto... You will find Melissa's Kody and Sabaka often have similar behaviors. We think they might be brothers separated at birth! Sabaka is 18 months old and I do think he misses his front legs more often now than when he was younger. |

| From my research male dogs usually do not start lifting a leg to pee until about 9 months of age. Some do it periodically, I actually had a male shitzu that never lifted his leg lol. Peeing on the legs or feet is also common. You should wipe it off as it can cause urine burn. |
