Me and my boyfriend just got Aurora about a week ago. She is a very good dog. She lets us know when she has to go outside. We rescued her from my boyfriends neighbors who was taking her and he sibling to the pound b.c they were all still feeding off the mom. We aren't really sure how old she is but we know she is btw 2-3 months old. Aurora is a people person she cry's when one of us leave the room with out her so she has to go and find u. She loves to play with my hair, she just doesn't realize it is attached to my head. Aurora loves to lay in the laundry basket we have in the bathroom. We are working on potty training Aurora and it is going pretty good.

Poor things! Glad you could at least rescue one.

With her being so young make sure you start working on bite inhibition early. They normally learn that from their mom and siblings. When a puppy nursing bites too hard, momma milk train just gets up and walks away. lol. And siblings yipe when they are bit too hard.

I would start crate training her and let her know that it is okay for her to be alone. You will come back! You don't want her getting so attached that she develops separation anxiety. A little tough love does wonders for that.

Do you know what the parent's looked like? She looks like she has merle in her! If so, I wonder if she may have some border collie or aussie in her (at least a while back in her lineage). Maybe she'll listen better than most siberians! Cool

Are you considering taking her to puppy class? Puppy classes are a great way to socialize puppies with other puppies and people. You can even take them to puppy class before they are done with their shots as long as it is a good puppy class that only allows puppies and dogs with their shots and is kept clean. I think I started Siku at 12 weeks and Elara at 8 weeks in puppy class and they both had a blast.

i think both her parent are pure breeds but i am not 100% sure on the dad. She has been really good. We don't have a crate right now we wanted to see how she did without one. But we are probably going to get on from my boyfriends parents who don't use there's anymore just so we can train her with it. She has done really good about when we leave her and come back. We put her in the bathroom and most the time when we come back she has climbed into the laundry basket and is sound asleep. She listens really well but has her very stubborn moments.

We haven't looked into the puppy training class yet but i will mention it to my boyfriend and see what he says. We have started to interact her with his parents dogs and they are scared of her and all she wants to do is play. so she barks and then gets down with her butt in the air waiting for them to play with her.

You should really look into getting a crate. From what I've learned on this forum, huskies like to chew and get into things a lot, especially ANY puppy. And potty training will be so much easier with a crate. I'm no pro at any rate so maybe someone can chime in with some better advice :-)

I never crated either of my dogs and got them both as puppies. But neither of my dogs have really any of the pulling-out-of-the-hair tendencies of huskies. Just mentioning it can be done.

She is super cute. Her coloring is a bit similar to what my male looked like as a baby. I'm glad you got to save her- I'm sure the other three will get pulled by a rescue or adopted. Husky puppies don't stay in shelters or anything long enough to be PTS from my experience!
Do you think she is merle because of the 3 little brown spots, Sara? Koda had those too when he was really young but they went away pretty quick, but it was just like 2 extra dark spots.

Welcome! She is a cutie! I am in VA not far from you...I want one of those puppies!! ...sadly, I don't see it happening...

We used to put our first husky in the bathroom when we left. We didn't do much research before we got her, so we didn't even know about crate training. She ate an entire handle off of a toilet brush (luckily she didn't get a bowel obstruction - we watched it come out!). One day we came home to find the door frame all chewed up. She also chewed through the water line to the toilet and created a small flood! The crate became our friend...!

Good luck with the training and such..

I agree for a puppy so young you really need to crate train.

Yeah, that's what made her look merle to me, but the picture isn't much to go off of!

When she is in the bathroom all she does is ground lay on the floor or get in the the clothes basket and sleep. She pulled stuff out of the trash can once but all we said was no very firm and she hasn't done it sense. Right now she goes into the bathroom after we play with her for alittle bit or if she just wants to get away from everyone at the house.

Me and my boyfriend have looked up thing about huskies and one of the things said they are family dogs and Aurora has proved that. My boyfriends sibling came over today and she started playing with them right away. The kids got Aurora interested in a toy we got her but the baby wouldnt give the toy up so Aurora was running after the baby to get the toy.
