| When my fiance and I have moved apartments before both of our dogs started chewing things up. Akira (the husky) has moved with us once. Akira never chewed until we moved. She started chewing things like remotes, cell phone chargers, and plastic. We moved into our place now last June, and she still chews things on the rare occassion. Aries (our sheltie/american eskimo mix) has moved with me probably 3 times or so. Same case. She never chewed until we moved and then started chewing up things like pencils and little things she finds on low tables. They have plenty of toys and we are neat freaks so we never have things laying around. Well, we just got approved for a loan and we're looking at houses now. Is there any way to help them with moving anxiety? I think they have finally gotten over chewing things up at this place, and I'm worried about uprooting them again and dealing with the chewing all over again. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

| I'm not sure how far away you're planning on moving from you're current residents, but perhaps once you find a place you could make a couple trips to the new home with the dog's. That way they could get better acquainted with their new home and by the time you actually move in there, it won't be unfamiliar to them. Maybe bring some items on their's from the previous home into the new one, so it's not so scary. I've never had experience with this before, but that's just a suggestion. |
