| Hello! I've hovered over these forums a few times to get answers about my dog and decided that, hey, maybe it's time I signed up and got the full learning experience. In the picture to the left, you can see my dog, Fenrir, and his monster of a littermate, Apollo. You might also get to see one of the gigantic holes Fenrir has left at the dog park, with the assistance of a couple husky friends and a few humans, too! (it has become the go-to dog bed for tired dogs, so it's all good -- which is great, because no matter how often we fill the hole back in, it's always larger by time we return)
They're about 7-8 mos old right now. Fenrir weighs about 42 lbs while Apollo weighs about 50. I have no idea if these are ideal weights, but...yeah. We got them around November and were told they were 3 or 4 months at that point.
Anyway, Fenrir is a ridiculously intelligent dog. He learns new tricks in three to five attempts everytime, housetrained in three days, engineers creative means of escape (don't you love huskies?), figured out how to operate a door handle, all sorts of things. He's like a fluffy evil genius who loves to chew up socks. |

| Welcome to the forum. Fenrir is very handsome. Does Apollo live with you too? Is he a lot taller than Fenrir?
You'll find a weigh-in thread in the general forum so you can compare weights there. Fenrir sounds very clever! Careful with those socks though ... |

| Hi and welcome to the forums. Wouldn't it be nice if we can get them to dig on command. So they can dig holes we have use for...lol |

| Ghost: Thanks! Fenrir is actually taller, by a very small margin, but was always shorter in the past. Apollo is just a considerable deal wider and more muscular. They seem to be the same length. Their third brother that I know about is significantly wider than both of them (same height), but a LOT lighter (like, 25-30 lbs). It's a really weird spread. Apollo used to live with us (my former roommate owned him), but some drama ensued and, a few issues later, I ended up mediating the sale of Apollo to a lady I know from the dog park who is extremely experienced in raising dogs (which is good, because Apollo is super-destructive). So while they no longer share a turf, they still see each other 3-4 times a week. jbealer, niraya, icebluelady, and jennet@embry: Thanks! I'll try not to be the MOST ignorant new husky owner in town. |

| Welcome! I love the name, and I can't wait to see more pictures of him _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Fenrir and his littermates have such different builds! I bet he loves it that he can meet up with Apollo often. I'll look forward to seeing more photos of Fenrir. |

| Thanks! I jumped in the cold water and uploaded an obnoxious scrapbook (because, y'know, I shouldn't be actually working or something. ) I wish I had a picture of the three together. Apollo is large, red, and muscular; Fenrir is sleek, black/white, and fast; Tioni (I think is his name?) is stout, fluffy, and blue. They look nothing alike. |
