Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. | Welcome I have 5 rescue Sibes who are the product of backyard breeding (breeding w/o health testing and registration) who each have their own issues they inherited from their parents. While I can see how you see no problem with breeding just to breed... Simply looking around my house I see 5. 5 puppies who grew into adults that people couldn't handle and who each have their own set of issues. Each I'm sure bred from parents who seemed healthy. Although healthy doesn't mean sound nor does it mean that are good candidates for breeding. There are enough Siberians in shelters who are not good "breeding stock" I can't see the urge to create more This is not to say your dogs are bad or unhealthy but I'm saying you just don't know because your original male was a stray and you didn't mention any health tests were performed or scored. These tests help detect growing issues with Siberians such as cataracts and Hip dysplasia so they can live longer healthier lives by only breeding healthy sound stock. Just so you can see it from the other side of the fence. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! The littler already happened, Jenn. That's how Khaleesi came into the world i totally missed that..... Andrew, im glad you did do your research first, but i still stand by what i wrote. are you still planing to use her for breeding now that you have Khaleesi? i volunteer for a husky rescue and i see what happens and it breaks my heart to see all these huskies being surrendered, or put down. _________________ |

| While I understand your views and respect them, I only ask that you respect mine, I do not see Khaleesi, her mother, father, grandfather, siblings as was worded above "stock" I see them as my friends and faithful companions whom I love. So I do not wish to debate this, we must agree that we dis-agree for free will is the whole of the law. Just because we disagree does not mean we can't be friends.
I do not own Somara Moon, she belongs to my uncle and as far as I know, they do intend on breeding her again. Khaleesi has been to the vet multiple times for her puppy shots and vaccines and she has no issues and is very healthy. She was not bred to be a sled dog, or a work dog. She is my friend and I hers.

| Please do not confuse my terminology for lack of appreciation for my canine companions.
I hope as a friend to your dog you make the healthiest and most responsible decision and not breed your dog. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| Well arooroomom I would like to breed her when shes older but I will be taking her in for the tests and everything of that nature, and only when I'm ready to have another puppy of my own to add to the family. I have no intentions of breeding Khaleesi to make money from her babies. I want her to have a long full and fun life. I hope you don't think i've come off as an a$$ or anything. |

<head desk> Please read - so you want to be a breederThere are a ton of rescue huskies that need homes and I hope that you consider them when you decide to add to your family. If there are no rescues near your area, many rescues are very happy to transport to your area. |

| Ladies and Gents...
This goes out to no one in particular. While I understand that everyone is passionate about rescue and not condoning or encouraging backyard breeders, we are also not here to push our own agenda or make someone feel looked down upon because of his or her choices. We are an open and accepting forum. We can agree to disagree on a topic. I hope that everyone is always open to more education, but we also can't mandate that no one ever breeds his dog, especially when they have health tested their dogs and are breeding safely.
We all know my preferred method of breeding and I will stick to that until the day I die, but it is not our place to judge or condemn other members. Educate and inform, but at the end of the day, that decision will ALWAYS remain with the owner.
Please remember that when you post or disagree with another member.
Thanks. Admin. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| I would just like to warn you that this is a very highly controversial issue anywhere on the internet. People will not understand. You and Andrew would be better served to not mention it to people. Good luck, but you are always welcome back. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Sorry to see that you might be leaving us Heather. As Tori mentioned, no matter where you go it's a hot topic and I've yet to see any forum where it isn't. We would love to see you stay but we understand if you feel the need to leave. And by the way, we have nothing against you or your "no good back yard bred dog" as you put it. We don't think that about ANY dog, many of us members have dogs that are from backyard breeders. All my dogs are rescues and two of them were rescued from a backyard breeder and no one thinks any less of them because of their background. I hope you'll stick around, but if not good luck to you. _________________ |
