Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Toe Issues Empty
PostSubject: Toe Issues   Toe Issues EmptySun Aug 30, 2009 10:32 pm

so on wednesday keno is getting nuetered. nothing to major there, granted i'm nervous becuase you never know. and i didnt want to get it done this early, but due to other issues, its going to be easier ( and almost $200 cheaper to do it now) and the hubby is okay with it right now ( he still wants to breed him Rolling Eyes )
now to the other issue. on both hind feet his outside toe nails have grown all wrong. one is so twisted i cant trim it and it will be growing into his toe here shortly ( which is why we are getting this done now) and the other is twisted outwards, so it gets caught on things and i can trim it, but not enough to where it doesnt get caught on stuff.
so our vet is going to either remove the nails or if he has to, the toes. depending on how the nail is growing and where it is. has anyone dealt with this before?
i trust my vet( been our vet for 7 years if not more and has become a family friend), so i will go with what he says needs to be done, but i'm still worried!

we dont think it will affect his walking, as they are on the outside and he doesnt put a lot of his weight on those toes, but gah i just dont know!

so kentastic just needs some good vibes this wednesday!!

Oh no!! Good luck Keno!

I've never dealt with that before, but I'm real glad that you have a vet that you can trust. I'll be thinking of you guys!

Awww Tiff our thoughts will be with Keno on Wednesday (my daughters birthday by the way!!). I am sure he will be fine with your vet as you know him so well he is bound to do what is right for Keno and he will have Koozie and Izzy to look after him when he gets home. Let us know how he does please Wink
