Dog pack problems with a medical monkey wrench Empty
PostSubject: Dog pack problems with a medical monkey wrench    Dog pack problems with a medical monkey wrench EmptyWed Nov 21, 2018 11:33 pm

So been doing alot of research into why my 2 girls (wolf/husky) who is 3 and my rez dog (husky/shepherd/indian dog) who have coexisted but the older female never really liked the wolfdog decided they were going to kill each other. The older dog has killed several sheep 2 cats(that she grew up with) a steer countless rabbits and who knows what else. She was actually fine with other animals before my neighbors dog (who believed in letting thier dogs run loose) came over several times and attacked my german shepherd. Eventually i had to let my dogs kill the dog that kept coming over and starting fights(i dont like shooting dogs) and i think she has ptsd... fast forward 3 years and past all the carnage to last march when someone came by with a dog and mine went nuts and redirected agression turned my 4 dogs on each other. So since and several trips to the vet later the idea that my older dog can be around other animals ever again has been thrown out the window but recently i found out that my German shepherd has progressive retinal atrophy and will end up completely blind and the incident that started it all was at night when my shepherd has trouble seeing and now i wonder if that wasnt what actually caused it all. Has anyone else ever had anything like this ever happen

I am truly saddened by reading your post. It sounds like they have gone through some really bad times. What recommendations has your vet given for this? Are they spayed/neutered?

Sadly we made the mistake of buying 10 beautiful acres with really crappy neighbors i lost everything except my dogs my horse and my husband(tho the horse was stolen 3 times) but i have an aunt and uncle who are both vets and then the one i take my dogs to all have reccomend a behaviorist and a really good dog trainer and never having the older female around any other animals and with the two boys backing the bigger stronger female was more of a pack mentality thing then them turning on the older dog. Also bloodwork showed the older dog has a hormonal imbalance due too being spayed. The younger female is not spayed and the german shepherd is not neutered but the terrier is neutered and also location seems to be an issue of getting anyone to come out or finding anyone within a 2 hour drive to evaluate the pack
