| I don't think anyone could tell you for sure. Even a DNA test could be wrong. But they look like Huskies to me. |

| Depends on your definition of "legit." Are they legitimate dogs? I'd say so. Are they legitimate Huskies? Probably or at least enough that it wouldn't matter unless you're looking to breed them - in which case probably not. There are a lot of people who "are filling the demand" for strictly monetary gain and are producing badly non-standard litters which grow up to be badly non-standard adults.
As for "the nose", it's called a snow nose and lots of dogs have them. Some plastic bowls have chemicals in them that will cause a snow nose that goes away once the offending dish is replaced. Sometimes it's a genetic "feature" and stays with them for life. It's quite normal and isn't a fault.
It could be just the angle from which the picture was taken but the second puppy looks to be a week or so younger than the other two. But they're all good looking dogs. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| They are all supposed to be from the same litter. I read about snow nose, but on that one, it looks like de-pigmentation? They are in a warm climate, if it matters.
Thanks for the responses. I am between the first, and third. Any thoughts, based just on looks? |

| Judging from these pics, I'd bet they are actually pure bred husky. For pups this young though, ears are pretty big and will only get bigger. They will grow with their ears but yeah, they aren't what would be considered standard.
Second pic...female? |

So gar from standard.. Which aspects in particular? Those two are beautiful. You would need stacked pics of them at around 8 weeks old to determine how well they meet the standard, and even then thats not 100% that just gives you the best idea at that age. And thank you |

| Depigmentation, huh?? Spotty dogs are apt to have spotty noses - an I'm not being more than a bit facetious there. My older female Sibe gains and loses a typical snow nose - and it does follow the season; summer it's solid black, winter it's spotted. My male Alaskan Husky has a stripe down his nose sorta like your third picture - that's always there.
If you don't mind, too much, my asking - Where are you? We have members from about every continent except Antarctica and several countries in Europe. If you'd rather not then just ignore me - no problem. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| In Central America. Right in the tropics! I am between those teo black omes. I like everything about the red collar one more, except for the nose. On top she is darker and the other more gray, with a white patch on the right top side of the neck.
I would have though it was snow nose, but it looks different from what Googling Husky snow nose looks like. But if you guys say its cool... |

| If you can avoid choosing a dog on looks alone without meeting them, I would. A dog's looks should be a fairly minor aspect of choosing a dog. Making sure that you have one that has the personality that will work with your lifestyle is better. You don't want to base your decision on the look of the dog and then get there and that dog is super shy and scared of everything and then you bring it home to a house with three screaming kids. The dog could also be unhealthy and looks alone wouldn't tell you that. Meet the pups and see which one speaks to you. The one you may not immediately like the look of might be the sweetest dog ever and fall right in sync with you if you give it the chance.
They look pure. Just not of show quality. Most people tend to call it snow nose even if it doesn't only come in the winter and go in the summer. These dogs have white spotting on their noses. It isn't going to go away. The extent or design of it may change as they age but more than likely they will all always have some level of light coloring on their nose. It doesn't mean anything health-wise nor would it affect their ability to be shown if they were of show quality. _________________ |

| So the guy was pretty far and ended up driving halfway. We asked him to bring the first and the third. We ended up getting the third. In person, she is bigger, felt more comfortable with us, and was also way more beautiful. |

| I liked the third one as well. There's something about the way she's setting, looking right at the camera that suggest she's gonna be one sharp dog.
Good luck with the little one and please, don't go away just because you've got your pup. You're going going to have plenty of challenges in your life, even if she's well behaved! _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Thanks! She did seem more attentive and at ease than the other one, when we first held her. You know, she sometimes has her ears more to the sides, like in this pic. Is t hat normal? |

| Oh, that's normal - she's just getting ready to fly off!! Until she gets a little more grown, it's not too uncommon for them to be pointing in any direction, as she learns how to point them at some particular sound they'll come around.
<< laughing >> Wonder how long it'll be till that bell drives you bonnkers?? (That is a bell, right?) I've gotten some retainers for my dogs tags so they don't make noise! _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Thats a relief, thanks!
That is a bell, yes. They gave her to us with that collar. Were going to put on a different one after Christmas.
What are the best Microchip brands? Herd they have Catch and Mark and MS Schippers. Maybe some other ones. |

| It's taken me a bit to see if I can answer this but I really can't. I use HomeAgain and 24PetWatch both of whom are US companies and don't service non-US countries. ( Surprised me, I would have expected that they'd have offices, at least, in Canada! )
There is just one item I'd note - there are several companies who are using a generic 900 prefix on their chips, which makes it difficult at best to identify which company has the contract for your pup.
PetLink chips read, 981; HomeAgain chips read, 985, etc. followed by the Chip ID that matches your pet. They can be contacted to find out the status of a missing dog - if it's been reported.
There are also registries that try to maintain 'universal' chip information so they can be contacted if your pet comes up missing.
I honestly, and regrettably, can't help with Central America - I simply don't know. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Thanks for that. There is also Animal ID. Are they all the same? Should I get one over the other or none at all? There is no registry here, so it would be as far as one scanning one's self to "identify" a lot dog. Or seeing if any work with the feeders and doors thay scan microchips? |

| She is a cutie, congratulations!
I would have interpreted the ears off to the side a little differently than Al, but the outcome is the same, it's nothing to worry about (unless she is shaking her head a lot as well) and they will stand up more and more with time. Dogs communicate a lot with their ears, your pup is in a new home, with new sounds, new smells, new people, etc. so it stands to reason she would feel a bit more shy/timid/not as confident, hence ears off to the side. As she gets used to you, your home and all that good stuff, she will be more confident and ears will stand up more and more. When she goes through her teething phase, don't be alarmed (like I was, haha) if her ears drop, with some Huskies this happens, but in no time they will be back up. |

| Ears are a major source of communication - all my guys, straight back and flat to the head when they're really really really happy to see us. Cocked out to the side, like yours, when they are definitely put off by something, as in I bring out the grooming brush, grab them by the collar etc, alert, upright and forward when something has their attention. Ears tell a story |

| So, in time, shell have them closer on top of her head, and facing front, like most Huskies, at least some of the time? |

Yes. Much like she has them in the first pics you posted of all 3 puppies. |
