Hi All!

New here, just wondered on thoughts for my husky, Diego. We got him from the anti cruelty society last october when her was about 9 weeks old and he is amazing! Makes the best little brother to our rott, Roscoe. I have no way of knowing if he is 100% pure siberian husky or not but he will be 1 on 7/26 and he is coming close to 70 pounds.... if you look at him you would not believe he weighs that much. Our vet expects him to get even bigger! I have yet to measure his height recently (he's asleep at my feet at the moment I should be sleeping too!)...but I was just wondering what your males weigh. Balon is about 33 lbs at 5 months old, your Diego looks good to me, hes so pretty!

aww thanks yours is a stunner too! I just keep hearing males are supposed to be 60 lbs and this and that and he's going to be well above that. even though people on the street tell me he doesn't look like he eats enough lol I go trust me he EATS like a mad dog haha. he's solid muscle

People don't realize that a husky is really a rather thin dog, they should have a nice waist, most I see are on the thin side though I have seen a few heavier ones . They keep telling me Balon will be over 60 we shall see. They told me my lab would weigh 65 and she is only 53 lol a very petite girl~

well I guess I shouldn't be surprised Diego was 17lb at 9 weeks when we got him lol and he wasn't very chubby either. who knows. shelter says he's an "alaskan" husky not a siberian but alaskans aren't supposed to have blue eyes although they are much bigger than sibes. who knows. alaskan huskies aren't even technically a real breed but actually are a mix. pet peeve of mine but I guess I'll never know what he actually is

Breed standard is 60Ibs, but there are lots of Sibes that are over that My Kale is 2 and weighs 58Ibs.

Storm (grey and white) is a 72 lb husky who stands about 26" inches tall from ground to his shoulders....he's just a big husky.

My Lycus is 7 months and 60lbs! Lol. It makes me wonder how big he'll be!

shelters often miss label pure breed huskies as Alaskan. im sure your boy is most likely full husky from the pic you posted. our boy is 57lbs and 4yrs old. only you can truly tell if he is over weight or under weight, you need to feel his ribs but not see them, as well as the hip bones. huskies are super lean at that age as well. what are you feeding and how much a day are you feeding?

just measured he's about 24.5" at the shoulders and almost 70 lbs. here's a picture I literally just took he doesn't look anywhere NEAR 70lb lol excuse his goofy looking tummy hair he had to be shaved when he was neutured because his *ahem* "goodies" never dropped (typical from BYB husky pups apparently) and to have a hernia removed as well so his tummy hair is still coming in lol
