My husky keeps peeing Empty
PostSubject: My husky keeps peeing    My husky keeps peeing EmptyThu Jan 18, 2018 3:13 pm

Hi everyone. So I've had my husky since about May, we adopted her when she was 2 1/2. She was very good about using the bathroom outside. The past couple weeks she has been peeing on our area rug in the living room while we are gone. She goes out once in the early morning and then a walk before I go to work. I can be gone for 3-4 hours and there is still a big spot of pee! I'm not sure what's going on. Debated on her having a bladder infection or a uti, but she sleeps with us at night and goes 7-8 ish hours without peeing.

We thought Misty was housetrained, and then she suddenly seemed to forget she was housetrained -- or decided she didn't want to be housetrained anymore. We had the vet check her -- no UTI or other infections. So, we just started from scratch and "retrained" her. Misty is crate trained -- she's in a crate when we're not home -- so she was actually peeing in the house while we were THERE. With the retraining, though, she got the message and now she's housetrained again. She's still crated during the day, at least for now. We'd hoped to retire the crate by now, but we're going to go another month just to make sure she stays housetrained.

if you rule out any infection then its now a behavior issue. can you keep her "locked" in another area of the home, or a crate?
the scent is now on the carpet no matter how much you have cleaned it with pee remover, i would remove the rug and see if she still pees when you are gone.

We could not break the habit with sierra and because of her age, its just expected she will go while we are gone. we have 3 crate trays on the tile floor covering the area she likes to go, about 80% of the time she pees on the trays and clean up is easy, other times we have to mop up.
