| I checked the weather report and it looks like it'll be 40-degree weather tomorrow with the snow coming in on Sunday...I guess we'll decide tomorrow morning if a hike is OK...I'd at least like to get Storm out to Surrey Ridge dog park for a few laps...

good luck on the buttering up the hubby! Ken does not pay any attention to the yard so he will not notice them. the most he does in mow the lawn and weed wack. i do all the rest of it, fertilizing, weed picking, planting, mulching, planing, building and so on. i really do love it, its the "harder" labor stuff i hate, like moving that damn rock, and trying to get rid of the juniper! _________________ |

| ok i got lucky and i think Ken has given up on the plant fight! not one word was said to me about my loot he saw them in the shed and i have said somethings about them and not a word from him i think he is "getting it" so some new update pictures. i finished the shed on Sat took from 12-6pm, the rock took about 2hrs to move from the front to the 2 sides of the shed, i had to clean all the dirt and grass out of it by shifting it over fencing and then dumping in a bucket to walk back. my $40 steal from sams club, it is 4x7ft! need to till and fill this weekend to get my seeds in cucumber and squash that out grew the other container mini lilac weeping birch my root hostas and flowering lambs ear irises, slavia, and my full size lilac close up of the bloom smells so good p.s. maybe the birthday gnome will bring me a new camera..... _________________ |

| Glad the hubby was okay with it! All the plants look great. Oooh, now you're making me want to get a lilac plant. I planted my lavender plants today and they smelled wonderful too, combine that with the gardenias in full bloom...I had the house windows open all day and hubby came home and asked if I had sprayed the house with air freshener! Wow, 6 hours on the shed project! Sounds exhausting but I'll bet that was a workout unto itself! _________________ |

| Ok i had to wait till i got to work to post the pictures so here is how everything is looking! if you want to compare look on page 1 of this post to see the start of everything. my new flowers planted under the weeping birch, the blocks are there to keep Jack from digging up the tree! in my sad shade corner those 3 larger ones i got to replant the one garden that nothing came back in growing growing growing new veggie garden! cucumber, tomatoes, parsley eggplant, strawberries, peppers, and zucchini front corner bush that is taking off with no care (best kind of plants!) front garden bed, growing, growing, growing and my 16'X5' raised bed that i just made on the side of the house, need some more stone and dirt with plants and its done! (remember that pic i posted at the start of all the rock there!) now to do the flagstone pathway next to it. _________________ |

| Val, im hoping by June, most of the garden will be in bloom we are having rain all day today, in fact it was sleeting in the morning and i put some shake n feed down last night on the flowers, perfect timing. i put up a fence around the veggie garden after i took the pics as i was out front and came to the back and jack ran up to me with dirt all over his face he was eating the bio compost!!!! and all most took up the one strawberry plant, i also figured Sierra will start eating the veggies as soon as they start growing so i got the fence up that afternoon! we also come home yesterday and someone is flipping the house across from us and ken went out to unload the car and 2 guys were at the corner of our yard checking out all my plants, i took that as a nice complement he said he should have hired me to do the planting! i might bust out the plastic to finish that new raised bed because i really only have this month to get things in the ground before we get to hot here..... it requires me to go to a "garden" center to buy the bushes i need unless HD and Loews gets them in but no luck this past weekend on that i love playing in dirt! _________________ |

| You've been busy, girl! Love the raised bed you did, it looks really good! Do you have wood panels on two sides of your raised bed? _________________ |

| Val, yes it is 1-16'x1' (long side) and 2- 5'x6" (stacked on the back wall) pieces of treated wood that i stained. the flagstone is not cheap and i did not want to waste the money on 2 sides that are not that visible. once the sage gets bigger it will hide the wood _________________ |

| They're beautiful! That's one reason I haven't got for irises, they only bloom for such a short time! _________________ |
