2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Weight Question Empty
PostSubject: Weight Question   Weight Question EmptyMon Apr 10, 2017 1:43 pm

My pup is 3 months this Saturday on april 15, 2017. Last week I had him at the vet and he weighed in at 14.2 lbs. His dad is 70-75 ish lbs. and his mom is 45 lbs. I was wondering if that is maybe a little small granted his parents are bigger huskies? I don't want to worry if I don't need to. The vet did not say anything about him looking underweight either. I am being a worry momma lol. I do that with my horses too. He does get fed 2 cups a day, most of the time he won't finish all of it but leave maybe 1/4 left. in the mornings he will usually eat it all and then his evening feedings either nibbles or eats it. but it varies. Thank you in advance Smile

You might consider 3 feedings a day if it works for your schedule. At least till they hit 8 months to a year.
But honestly, I wouldn't get too worried. His dad is on the heavy side, mom seems about normal, but not all offspring will be the same. There are some posts in the forum here where people have posted a timeline of weight and height and you'll see that there are some small dogs and some big dogs. My male husky is on the smaller side of the female height/weight range, but he's a healthy energetic dog with no real issues.

Unless you are using him as a show dog, the only thing that matters is his health. If the vet thinks he is healthy, I wouldn't get worked up.

Rorschach just got back from the groomer (my wife insists on pampering my dogs despite the fact that they'd both rather wallow in a mud pit).

Adult female: 20-22 inches & 35-51 lbs
Adult male: 21-24 inches & 44-60 lbs

Rorschach at 10.5 months is 20 inches and 35 pounds.
He's a runt. He's at the smaller end of the female range in both height and weight. It's possible he may increase in height a tad yet, and he may pack on a few pounds over the next year, but I doubt he'll ever hit the low range for males.

He's healthy, full of energy, super active, and pretty well behaved.
