Mavi is a male pure Siberian Husky and is 7.5 months old. He looks a little small for his age and when people approach me at the dog park, they often ask if he is 3 or 4 months old. From what I can tell he's eating sufficient amounts of food and we are feeding him Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Puppy. He does have a tendency to eat things he shouldn't (dirt, sticks, etc.) and will throw up from time to time which leaves me concerned if he is getting enough food/nutrients. Just curious if anyone knows what the weight range/approximate measurements should be for a pup of this age? I weighed him at 7 months and he was just shy of 40 pounds.

Alison, Most people assume huskies to be big. I assume that people get Malamutes and Huskies confused. Breed standard for a male husky is up to 55 pounds. At 7 months and 40 pounds Mavi is right on, by the time he reaches maturity, any where between 1 year and for some 3 years, he will be right at breed standard, at least imho. Max standard would be 60 pounds. With Mavi at 40 pounds he would be just shy of the low standard for males.....typically the range is 45-55, where some males coming in closer to 40 and others closer to 60. Do you know how much Mavi's parents weigh? That would give you a good idea on how much Mavi will end up weighing. I hope that helps.

Hey, my boy is currently 9 months and he is barely 35 pounds. From 6-8 months he was 27-29 pounds.
When realized the weight of many huskies here at this age..I was totally shocked but every pup is different. As long as they are happy and healthy it's all good. I can't wait to see what the final full form weight will be though haha
