So, just doing a little venting here forgive me!! but I live with my fiance and his father I am having a hard time with his dad, he keeps giving Nala people food behind our backs although we tell him all of the time that just because she is cute and she gives you the puppy eyes doesn't mean that you give her people food! It drives me insane and I'm not sure what to do about it. Also, he buys her the beggin strips and milk bones I don't find them horrible but I would rather give her better quality treats. But before I get the chance to tell his father not to get them, he goes to Walmart and buys them. I'm just wondering what is your opinion on those treats I've read not so good things about them and its starting to scare me since he had just went and bought some last weekend I would feel awful just throwing them away! Anything helps!

Maybe you should go buy a couple bags of treats you feel is healthier and higher quality and leave them on the counter, so he knows to give her those instead of the other. I'm sure he would rather use those up instead of buying more when there's already plenty to give her.

I still use milk bones. Our dog when I was growing up always got one in the morning for her breakfast, night time was canned vets or strong heart dog food, she was fifteen or better when she had to be put down. I only use them now in smaller pieces, I'll break a big bone into three and feed them out for behaving wile nail trimming and things like that.

I'm with Kelly if it really bothers you that much. I only use milk bones to stuff kongs and I don't typically use beggin' strips but my sister just bought a huge bag so we ripped them into tiny pieces about the size of my pinkie nail to use in our training treats jar. I normally use Natural Balance tub foods and cut it up, put a small jar in the fridge and freeze the rest! Costs me ten dollars and last a long time. The only down side is it takes forever to cut up and my hand cramps up haha

I also buy these when I go to a particular grocery store. They seem to be a decent price: http://www.glennsmarket.com/Section/Online_Ordering/Dog_Food_%26_Treats/Wanna_Treat_Freeze_Dried/index.html Snoopy really like the fatty piece in the chicken container
