When his in the crate he whines so i know he has to go , he only has accidents when i don't get to him on time but he can hold it , in the house he just pees without warning its like if he thinks he can pee anywhere as long as its not his crate so how can i teach him to tell me he needs to go outside when he is in the house ( i don't think the bell method will work he would just destroy it )

First need some background info
How old is he?
Are you take him to often? Like every 1 on the hour?
Are your praising and/or treating when he goes outside?
How often is he in his crate?

How old is he?

Are you treating him like crazy when he goes to the bathroom outside? Like making it the biggest deal ever? That will help a lot and start the potty training process to work in your favor.

Honestly, there probably is a sign that he is giving you and you just haven't figured it out yet. My dog Nikolai, it took me the longest time to figure out his signs. But I just didn't realize that he sits and stares at me or gets really close to me when he has to go. He doesn't bark, look at the door or anything, he just sits and stares or lays on me and looks at me and for some reason thats his I have to go potty face!

My suggestion is if you need a full blown sign, try the bell and keep an eye on whether or not he is going near it to chew it. Show him that if he hits the bell, he will get taken outside and then when you do take him outside, go crazy when he pees.

You might just also try the first part of my suggestion, if you haven't already been doing that and he might then be more into giving you signs because he knows if he goes outside he will get a good reward and you might be able to skip the bell, or a door bell or anything all together.

There are a few things you can do you just gotta stay conistent wit what you do. I personally have koda sit at the door everytime before i take him out. Now he sits by it when he has to go. Also eventually when my house addidtion gets done, im going to bell train him. Hang a bell by the door, and have him ring it everytime before we go out, so he rings it when he has to go. If its a puppy eventually youll be able to read their body language if you pay attention enough. If im not looking at koda when he sits by the door he has a specfic "poopy dance" lol haha

His 4 months old and he is in his crate the majority of the time but he gets an hour of roaming the house when he has peed and pooped also i walk him a lot and i watch him the whole hour so he has never had an accident , and i take him out as soon as he wakes up or if i hear him whining , maybe i'm not making a big deal out of him doing his thing i do give him a treat

With my Reyna she was crate trained as well. But we never let her out of the crate unless we could watch her the entire time. If we caught her in the act we would tell her no that's bad and immediately take her outside. Then freak out and tell her how awesome she was for going potty outside. She now comes up to us and woo woos if she needs to go out.

Honestly, I am having this same issue. Simba is going on four months and just doesn't give me any signs. I have to baby-gate my dogs in a secluded area so I can keep an eye on them. I take them out every hour or maybe every half hour. I had him potty trained until we got Nala. Does the bell method really work? I'm considering trying it.

Depending on the age of your dog will depend on how long they can hold it. You take their age in months and you add 1. So if your dog is 4 months, they can last for 5 hours.

Start off by taking your dog outside after:
1) Play time
2) Any resting period (nap, just laying there chewing on a toy)
3) Any time in a crate
4) After anything really exciting happens (people coming over, training session)

Make sure you stay consistent, take them to the same spot every time to eliminate. Praise them when they go outside. If they have an accident in the house, don't punish them. Immediately take them outside to their potty area to eliminate. Clean up their mess and disinfect it so they can no longer smell it. When you take them out, give them 5 minutes to eliminate, if they don't, bring them back inside for 5-10 minutes then try again. If you take them out and they always take 10-15 minutes to go to the bathroom, they are taking advantage of you to get out side to play. If you live where I live and winter is -45, you don't want to be spending more than 3 minutes outside at a time.

Keep this routine for a few weeks or until your puppy to going outside to the bathroom at regular times throughout the day. Once they have their pattern down, then start by adding 3-5 minutes longer before taking them out again. This will get them to learn to hold it until let outside. Try to use the same door every time you take them out. They will learn that if I go to this door that means I can go outside to my potty area.

As for the Bell, it does work, as long as you can train the dog to ring it. One way that you could try is ring the bell every time before you open the door. The bell ringing will signal to them that the door will be opened for them to go outside. During your training sessions with the dog, hold the bell up for them and give them a treat when they ring the bell. They are smart, it will not take them long to catch on.

Puppies are like children, don't leave them alone to wonder when they are so young, they will get into trouble. A lot of behaviours that we find problem behaviours are actually rewarding to them (ex. digging) so don't set them up to fail by not properly containing them when you're not able to have your full attention on them.

As for training times, it's pretty simple, keep it short. Too long will just get the puppy frustrated, train them during commercial breaks while you're watching tv.

Oh geeze, this is so long, i'm terribly sorry. I'm a dog trainer and I have so much to say but it really adds up when you're typing. Smile The key point to get out of this is stay consistent.

I really hope this can help you guys!
