My husky bella is ten months and we can not get the come command down while we are outside. Right now we are going to try putting a leash on her while she is outside in the back yard then saying come and grabbing the leash.Any other suggestions?   

lol That's a stubborn husky for ya. They're known for not listening well.

I stand at the door with a bag of treats and yell, "Come, Juneau!" Seems to work. I'll even pat my legs and act excited to come inside.

Sometimes she'll get bored with the treats and I switch them around. She loves cheese-sticks and has yet to turn them down. I usually have a whole cheese stick and cut a slice for her each time she is outside.

When it's night time, I tease her with a laser pointer. I swirl it around in the grass and lead it into the house.

Squeaking toys can also help.

I had to learn this the hard way, but never ever get frustrated and show it. If you ever so slightly raise your voice sternly or get mad, they'll know it and then run around like a mad dog because they think it's a game. I can't tell you how many times I got frustrated and just stomped around the house while Juneau ignored me outside. Like an idiot, I even chased her a few times. lol. I am a very patient person, but after 20 minutes of calling her to come inside, I just lost it.

Haha this sounds totally normal. Selena HATES going in the house and is very stubborn about it 99% of the time. If I go anywhere near her after saying come or inside she will run from me and start barking and wooing at me wanting me to chase her! Lately I've been asking her if she wants some steak and she comes running in!! Lol

Haha, I love it.

We were having trouble with this with Layla and in the past couple weeks we've gotten a handle on it for the most part. When it was time to come in I brought a Tupperware of hot dog to the door and said, "Layla, come!" and jiggled the hot dogs so she could hear them. She came running when she heard it. I gave her praise and some hot dog pieces as soon as she came in.

After about a week of doing this I stopped bringing the hot dog to the door and just started calling her to come in. When she comes in, I praise and take her off the lead and she runs into the kitchen, where I give her a treat. She comes running every time I call her now. I was so happy to see she came running inside today even while she was playing with a much-coveted stick she had dug through the snow to retrieve!

What Liz says does work!

Start working on the come cue in the house. Reward her for it. It will not take her long to catch on, especially in the house. Once she has mastered the come cue in the house with no distractions, start add in some distractions. (Maybe another person in the room) Work on the come cue again with the distraction but don't be too close to it, while she gets better at the cue you can move closer to the distraction. Eventually you will be able to move it to the outside, keep her on the leash for the first while. She could be associating the come cue with "play time is over" but she doesn't want it to be. While she is playing, call her to come, give her a treat and let her go play again. This way just because you say come it doesn't mean that play time is over, it means come get a treat. They are food driven dogs, make sure you give her a treat that is irresistible. That will depend on your dog, some dogs are crazy for cheese or hotdogs. Eventually, with consistency, your dog will be responding a lot better to your come cue.

I should also mention, when you give the come cue, do not saying it so many times in a row, the dog will learn that they only have to listen once you have said the word a bunch of times and raised your voice.

Get their attention
"[Dog's name], Come!"

wait for a few seconds, dog doesn't listen, repeat.
"[Dog's name], Come!"

If that isn't working then you should keep working with your dog in the house on a leash.
