She is beautiful! Her coat looks so soft and downy.
Do you brush and bath her often or is that just her coat type? She looks like she has a puppy coat still.

Wow. Kenzi has come so far since you brought her home. She looks like she has completely come into her own and is so, so happy.
And yes, that angle makes her look fat.

Haha...I didn't even notice what the puff above her tail was doing in the second picture. Her tail is set a little high so she has always had this puffy part right above her tail, probably her biggest conformation fault. I've been fighting the urge to trim the puff ever since I got her since it drives me nuts.
She got a bath at the end of July, other than that she just gets brushed every couple weeks. She's just finishing up her fall shed and is getting ready to pack on the fur for real. Her hair is soooo soft on her sides and belly but the line down her back is pretty typical guard hairs and not quite as soft. She has dense hair that makes her look quite broad, especially when she sits. I usually have to get her wet to really be able to gauge her shape to make sure she isn't overweight.
I think she is okay living with us.

Brushed every couple of weeks?!!? OMG - if I don't hit the "needy spots" of Ami's coat daily, I would have a huge mess...Thank you very much, Mr. Wooly Gene
I love the pics of Kenzi...sent link to hubby (in the other room ) He hollered back: "what is Ami doing on the bed?" Then suggested that you re title the pic: "The dog is NOT allowed in my bed"

Surprisingly she isn't a dreadful shedder either. I figure I'll get my paybacks for her ease with the next one.
My husband only wishes she wasn't allowed on the bed. Lol. She actually isn't supposed to be on his blue recliner but then you've probably seen how that's gone over.

So I have a ways to go on figuring out how to get the most out of the new camera. Lighting really throws me on how to get it to perform well in different lighting but I will get there. This new one is definitely faster.
Kenzi's favorite thing to do is chase Keno and knock him down.
The kill shot.
Blurry, but I like her goofy expression.

Old camera is the only one sneaky enough for moments like these.

The video is dark and grainy but you can kinda hear the sounds she makes when she shakes after a bath toward the end of the video. As soon as she's free from the bathroom she races around and usually shakes about a dozen times making this loud noise.

Jenn, love the action pics. New camera makes a huge difference. Sleepy time pic is adorable. Video, lol, too funny, Keno gets as excited as she is with bath time, she does make some odd sounds, haha. Good times

Last time she got a bath she shook off so many more times than this and made that loud sound every time. We were hurting for laughing so hard. I think I'm going to get a little longer lens. I've been shooting with 55-200mm and it helped but I guess I didn't realize how big the yard was until it just wasn't pulling them in as much as I would like.

What fun pics and video Jenn. Makes for a lively home with little boredom! Kenzi and Keno play like Ami and Archer - I always wondered what it would be like to have TWO huskies in the house together...now I know It's the same as 2 huskies in the backyard only with lamps and candy bowls and flower vases and....

It's not even funny how much stuff has been swept off the coffee table.

I can imagine - when Archer comes over to play in the backyard, before I let them off leash, I remove the ceramic tiles from the tops of the wrought iron side tables and set the tables on their sides - once the dogs start racing around and around, the tables tip over, the tiles chip...the husband gets cranky. And I've resorted to chicken wire around one of the island day lily plantings.
I don't care - they make me laugh and the pictures of your two also make me happy!

I've been pretty lucky. They are decent at staying out of the flower beds.

A few pictures from when we had snow on a couple weeks ago. It's Keno's first snow with us. He seemed to like it okay but the stuff is pretty taxing on his hips to slug through. It didn't slow them down much.

Goodness, you guys got a lot of snow. I just love the last pic, Kenzi is so focused on catching Keno.

The day Kenzi had a stroke. She has never laid in the crate before this and never has since this.
Moon off the back deck a month or so ago.

I'm editing because I missed the part about Kenzie having a stroke. I'm so sorry is she ok now? I couldn't believe when I read that

Sorry. Sarchasm. I don't think she had a real stroke but she was definitely not herself that day. I wasn't home and my husband took that picture. He said she laid in Keno's crate for about 2 hours dead to the world. When she crawled out she was back to normal and hasn't gone back since. She likes to be under things naturally. Usually she is holed up under the coffee table. She has a real fear of the crate all the rest of the time.

Great pictures of Keno and Kenzi - remember when you were worried how they would get along? What pals they are now?
I really like the last one "Kenzi the wolf, surveying the horizon..." Actually, I really like all of them
They get along great. I'm glad they have settled in so well. We have almost had Keno a year and not one spat. The only time she ever gets really worked up with him and gets a little too rough is if I'm on the ground and he thinks he wants to play with me. She won't let him. She will body block him from getting too close to me. she tries to do the same thing to my husband too though.
That is so funny, Jenn - both Archer and Ami only get a bit possessive over the humans. And Archer thinks we are HIS humans, too. If any of us are petting Ami, Archer comes barreling over and inserts himself between us and Ami (we call him "the little budger"). If we are sitting down, he climbs up and lays his front legs, head and chest across our laps. If I'm walking and Archer is trying to play with me (he likes to "hold" my hand with his mouth and trot along) Ami comes running over "woo woo woo". Sometimes, even grabbing Archer by the nape and pulling him away as in that's MY mommy/daddy! Ditto when Archer is doing the lap thing
i forgot how much she kind of looks like jack, her coat is more red though where he is copper. love the easter one with them sitting, really could be jack there.
