Happy Gotcha Day, Kenzi - she's so beautiful. And Keno's coat almost looks like a sable husky. Tasty looking cake - Kenzi has a great Mommy! I have that cake plate, too - it's my favorite!

I have a milk glass collection. I have the tall cake plate, the candle holders, and some kind of other plate that are all of this one's pattern. I have a couple other lace style plates with their matching candle holders as well. I need to get it measured sometime and order a cloche for it so I can actually leave stuff on it. Wasn't easy sliding her cake onto it after it was done up. Not that she cares. She just happy to have something different to munch on.

Nope - only 1 piece of milk glass and its that cake plate. Several old Fenton pieces (but my favorite early pink fenton vase was shattered when the globe from the tiffany lamp let go and landed in it ) And loads of pressed glass - hubby like tag sales, flea markets etc and always comes home with at least several items. Some of which he has no clue as to what it is and usually, me either

Keno's coat just amazes me considering what it was like when we first got him and what it is now. He was so pale when we got him and now he is just inky dark. Vet always says he's one of the softest dogs they have come into the place.

We have added another K to the mix. Husband wanted to name him Kye. I am having trouble calling him that. I like the name alright but it doesn't come to the front of my mind when I'm talking about him so may start by calling him Kyro (pronounced like Cairo Egypt) and see if that will help me shorten it to the Kye that my husband wants. He's actually named after a racecar driver, Kye Kelly. (Disclaimer: I hate the show Street Outlaws. My husband watches. My hatred for that show might actually by why his name is not sitting well with me) But anyway, here are some pictures of him I got this weekend of him during the acclimation process. Wow, Jenn - so wonderful they all mesh!!! Even Kenzi - though that pic of her looking from the couch says volumes. I'm so happy for you that things are, relatively speaking, uneventful.

I think he will get whiter with time. Stupid black leather collar I've been using on him is trying to stain his fur. He has a blue stripe I noticed this morning. As soon as his new tag comes in he's going to be going to a nylon collar instead of leather. He has some yellow that is trapped in his hair I tried to get out Saturday but think it's stuck until he blows coat. I've been looking through some of the old threads about white dogs and shampoo on here some.

Jenn... showed the pics to hubby who declared "that's nice!" And quite wistfully, I might add.

Coat staining...I used to think it was Ami's collar. Turned out to be his tags!

That is interesting about the tags. Could be. The tag that's on now doesn't have any wear to it but it does swing around his neck a lot. I hope whatever this stain is that it will wipe off easily enough. I bought a whitening shampoo I figure to get him with some time.

yes when i did new tags the pewter edging was rubbing off on sierras white fur making it gray looking, it stopped after some time.

I hope everything goes well with Kye's surgery!

His coloring reminds me a lot of Casey's Loki...I think he will generally be a white color, but during certain seasons or whatever, have the red hues coming thru.

i too have heard that some white husky have a yellow or red tint during certain times of the year.

So as of yesterday Kenzi has been with us for 4 years. Hard to believe. Since we are keeping all of kye's allergens out of the house as much as possible in situations where he might get a hold of something she got a yogurt cupcake with the customary liver treats on top. I did let her at least eat it outside in peace while keno and kye watched longingly from the sunroom door.

Happy Gotcha Day Kenzi! I never realized you've had her as long as I've had Kohdi, right down to the month! Kohdi's "gotcha day" is this Thursday.

I really need to get in here and fix all these poor broken photos, but in the mean time Kye was officially with us for a whole year on Saturday. He got yogurt and jerky cupcake and enjoyed it thoroughly. He has been my challenging pup. Friday we had our third escape in which he is a real pain to try and catch. He's one of THOSE huskies who just look at you and then keep on going. I think I have found his weakness though. Open gates. Swing a yard gate open and tap it and then grab him when he goes to run through it. Hopefully there will be fewer (none preferably) neighborhood chases for this second year with us.
