| she's so cute! i took samoa to the dog park yesterday as well. she played with a 5 month old pit puppy he looked like a little barrel lol she got a taste of her own medicine. he just layed on top of her and chewed on her legs and stuff she chewed on his as well. was so funny because she does that to my other dog i have who's and old boy and he doesn't like it. but she seemed to have a lot of fun. and a bath as well lol |

| So cute! Layla and Duke (the red dog in the pics) made friends and were wrestling a little bit. He was a little overbearing with her at first but then they played keep-away with the Frisbee and wrestled and it seemed to be a fair match. Layla's always getting picked on by other dogs, though, haha, since she's a submissive wimp, but that's OK. She doesn't seem to mind, either. Every time she gets right back up or goes between the nearest pair of human legs and after a few seconds she gets right back in the action. |

| i wish samoa was a submissive wimp lol.. she'll claim a rock or what she thinks is food and defends it like it's the last thing on earth. i need to figure out how to get her to stop resource guarding. it's getting bad. i usually let her know it's not acceptable by saying no! very sternly but by then she is attacking the other dog. she doesn't even give a warning any more. another dog gets near what ever she is guarding and she just attacks and i have to break up a fight ugh. she plays so well with other dogs unless there is a treat or piece of food involved and then just forget it ugh. it's getting frustrating i'm not sure what to do she is pretty submissive otherwise though. she'll go up to another dog wagging her tell head down ears flat and licking their faces wanting to play.only when there is food or what she thinks might be food and she goes crazy. she used to do that with me. she would growl when i got near her food but i rehabilitated her with that. she won't do it to people or kids. just other dogs.. do you have any ideas of what i should do? |

| thank you! i trained it out of her with people. not acceptable with people at all especially around kids. i would feed her by hand and praise her when she wouldn't growl and gained her trust but with other dogs i feel like it's impossible but i will definitely read about it thanks again

| Those crazy husky sleep positions. They are like little contortionists. _________________ |

| Layla is soooo cute! I love her white ruff.
That dog park looks wonderful - I will be in Westford this spring for birth of new grandchild. Will be bringing my beastie boy with me - where is this dog park? |

If you'll be in Westford, you should stop by Billerica sometime! The dog park in the photos above is the Melrose Dog Park in Melrose, Mass., about a half-hour drive from Billerica. Just get on 495N and then 93S for a little while and you're practically there. There's an even better dog park in Derry, N.H., that I took Layla to recently that has a lot of fenced-in space and water available for the dogs. It's a pretty popular place, as there were a lot of dogs there when we went. For that one you take 495N and then 93N. It's also about a half-hour's drive from Billerica. |

| Thank you! I know both Melrose and Derry - my sister-in-law used to live in Melrose. My niece lives in Haverhill. I may well take you up on a stop - We'll be taking care of 3 yr old and 5 yr old grandchildren while Mummy has a C-section and Daddy takes care of Mummy and new baby. Happy times (knock on wood). My grandson loves dogs, but we only got Ami in Oct, he was just over a year at Thanksgiving and too exuberant for small children, even my teenage niece got knocked over. We're working on that (after he almost strangled me with his tether, I took this training seriously -fortunately, Ami is a quick study and almost empathic in knowing not to hurt me so all I have to say is "gentle" with a slight hand gesture for "down" Thus, a visit to a dog park for a good romp with his peers would be just the ticket The cat thing: Most definitely! The way Ami plays ball with his paws is just like a cat. And smart, like a cat. |

| Darren and I took Layla to a cranberry bog yesterday in Carlisle, Mass., where we've heard a lot of dogs hang out. It was frigid (around 15 degrees) but sunny, and the snow-covered bog looked absolutely beautiful. We had a nice hike around the bog and in the woods and met a couple other dogs. We also did some running, and Darren took this gorgeous shot that has become my new favorite photo ever. |

| She had a lot of fun. She was in her element, always with a smile on her face and her ears back, hehe. And we couldn't have asked for a nicer day, despite the cold! |

| Someone come up with a good caption for this one. Darren and I were watching the Super Bowl and I was brushing Layla's belly when she made this face. Probably the funniest thing she's ever done. |

| She loves it! I am noticing that she and Yukon are starting to kind of look more and more alike (thinner face, long legs, big ears). You'd think they had the same parents! I guess Yukon is Layla's brother from another mother (and father, haha). |
