| I want to try using the oil for Pippa instead of a tick collar. Is this:
http://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Geranium-Egyptian-1-Ounce/dp/B000W3T4O8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376101469&sr=8-1&keywords=Pelargonium+graveolens
what I'm looking for? It doesn't say Geranium Rose, but from what I've read, "Geranium Rose/Rose Geranium" is just a common name for Pelargonium Graveolens.
Just wanted to double check and see what you guys thought. Thanks! |

| Looks fine to me, although if you were interested there's another bottle that I got that would be cheaper. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003GSGXAE/ref=pe_385040_30332200_pe_309540_26725410_item
Yours is 1 ounce and 12.97 after shipping, the one I got is 2oz and 10.49 after shipping. Plus it works great, haven't seen a tick since I started using it! Also you probably already thought about it but don't forget to get a cheap little glass or plastic dropper because these don't come with one. I ended up buying a bottle of lavender oil that came with a dropper so I can keep the dropper once I run out of it. |

| I hadn't thought of that Megan, thanks! I asked about that one because the GNC down the road from me carries it, and it'd be cheaper than ordering it and having to pay for shipping. (Although it would be cheaper in the long run...)
Glad to hear it works well though! I've found two on Pippa this summer, but found one on her snout this morning and then one in MY hair later! Too much, haha |

If you wanted to order any oils with a glass dropper, I found a rose geranium one. http://www.amazon.com/Rose-Geranium-Essential-Glass-Dropper/dp/B00EA1EE20/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A1WPZCVZZBOGCN However I think Abby just got a cheap one from walmart or some store like that and it works well for her and then you wouldnt have to pay for shipping on anything and get it straight from the store ^-^ |

| If you end up with a bottle that doesn't have a dropper, all you have to do is dip a Q-Tip in it and touch it to the collar . That's what I do. I ordered all of mine off Amazon and they were all under $10. Just gotta look around . But if a store near you carries it, and it's 100%, then I would just do it that way. |

| Walmart carries them? I havent seen it anywhere I'll have to ask next time I go I'm a bit ashamed to say we are there constantly since walmarts maybe a mile down the road and on the way to any other store for us so that would be extremely convenient I want to get the oils but I just dont like ordering things online unless I have to. |

| I bought rose geranium oil on amazon almost a year ago and mine came with a small plastic dropper. It's not in the picture so it doesn't show you lol. It's a huge bottle. I do mine about every other week (mostly because I forget) and I still have 3/4 of the bottle left, if not more. I even do like 2-3 drops per collar too.

| Alicia, I don't think Walmart sells pure essential oils. I've looked at my local Walmart before and all I could find were oil mixes which is not what you want. I can't speak for all Walmarts though.
My oils did not come with droppers. I just either tip them until a drop comes out onto the collar directly or I'll put my finger over the opening and invert the bottle real quick and rub the oil into the collar or harness. I also like to put oils on the dogs' bedding routinely. _________________ |

| Yes, it does affect fleas. It repels both ticks and fleas like bug spray. Unlike chemical preventatives, though, it doesn't kill the bugs once they attach to the skin and begin biting.
I've been using rose geranium oil since the snow melted here and while it does work, I found an engorged tick on Layla's ear, so it's not foolproof. Also, I live in New England, where deer ticks and Lyme disease is rampant, so if you live in a heavily tick-infested area you might want to use rose geranium oil as a supplement to chemical treatments. Much as I hate to do it, that's what I'm doing now just because the risk is too great in this area. |

| Ticks aren't too bad where we live, but when we go camping up north, they are. |

| I've looked around to find more information about rose geranium oil and its affect on cats. If I have cats, is this oil not an option? Or should the cats just not come in contact with it? i.e. if I put the oil on my pups collar, make sure I put it away when she's in the house? Thanks guys |

| You can have your cat around. Just don't put it on your cat or where your cat will come in direct contact with it, like a bed where kitty lays. If it's on your dogs collar, your cat most likely won't be affected. My sibe wears it on his collar and harness in a house of cats and we've never had an issue. The cats don't cuddle up to my sibe and even if they did (not a chance in heaven, but for arguments sake) they wouldn't ever come in contact with the collar since it's so covered by all the fur. _________________ |

| Thanks so much!! Taki does cuddle up with our kitten a lot, to be safe I can probably keep her collar off in the house. I'll make sure I am aware of how they interact together, thanks again! |

| cat EO page The above page is an EO site I like. On this one she lists geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) as safe for cat use. She does say essential oils for cats = use with caution but I realize you are not saying you are going to use it on a cat just be by at cat. You should be fine using it on a dog around a cat. |
