| Hello all. I'm a bit concerned for one of my furbabies. Nanuk is blowing his coat for the first time ever, he is three years old, and he is now refusing food. Has anyone ever had this problem? He is going to the vet tomorrow morning, but I can't help but want to turn to other Husky moms and dads. I've tried mixing in wet food into his dry kibble to get him to eat, but he won't go near it, and he is thinner than a super model. |

| How many meals have been missed? I have this issue at times with my mix. She gets upset, she stops eating. She gets sick, no food. It is almost immediate. Not sure if he is like that or not. Sometimes a few meals missed, sometimes it ends up trip to vet after a few missed meals.
I think the sure fire thing in the past is boiled chicken off the bone and steamed rice mixed together. Also, it is what you can feed them per most vets when they are very sick digestive wise. Like I gave this to my dog when he had pancreatitis. Vets also have a prescription diet wet food (AD maybe) that really increases appetite and gives energy. A few days of that canned food as helped my girl in the past regain appetite assuming nothing else is going on. |

| Never heard of a husky going off of food over a simple coat blow. Is it possible that something else might be going on? Perhaps even a female in heat in the area? _________________ |

| Have you tried anything else?? my pup Dakota is not much of a morning eater, but I need her to eat before I drop her off at doggie day care before leaving for work, (she will puke bile if she skips breakfast). So if she wont eat on her own I will melt some peanut butter and pour it on her food, she is a sucker for peanut butter and will eat all the food just to lick up all the peanut better. It works for me when Im in a time crunch for her to eat, so maybe something like that will help with you??? Just a thought . Hope it works out and Nanuk gets better! |

| None of the females around have gone into heat yet, and he has slowed his eating to a stop when we moved back home from a city. We live on a ranch now, and he just decided he didn't want to eat. He also has had the runs. I've searched for worms and such, but haven't found anything. At any rate, he will be going to the vet today. |
