| Hi everyone, Has anyone used this Vectra 3d for fleas ticks, etc?? Bob was out of frontline and the Vet gave me this after putting it on Bob after his shots. He sold me 6 months with 3 months free. Bob has not been the same lethargy, won't eat, no vomiting. He seemed to be better the next day but still not all the way. When I googled the Vectra I found it was made by Hartz and there were a lot of horror stories about this medicine. Called the Vet returned it and he gave me the last of his frontline years supply. Am I being too scarey?? I just want the best for Bob. Tonight we are going to bathe him with Dawn dishwashing liquid per the Vets orders to get rid of the Vectra. |

| I have heard bad things about Hartz, can't comment on any personal experiences. Did your vet tell you to apply the Frontline after washing him? I would be wary to do that because it is likely a good amount of the Vectra has already soaked in, and you don't want to overdose him. |

| No the Vet said to was him wait a couple of days and do it again- three times in fact as it is hard to come off his skin. He wants to see him this Saturday to check his skin. But definitely use Dawn dish washing liquid he said that is the only thing that would work to get it off him. |

| I steer clear of vectra I pm'd the poster of the last thread... I'm part of a bully breed forum since I have a pitbull and one of the posters had a horrible reaction happen to her dog I'll link the photo to my photobucket since you have to be registered to see it and I'm forewarning it's gruesome. They did investigate to see if they could reimburse her for her bills and I believe they did (If I remember correctly)

the thread ----> http://www.bulldogbreeds.com/forum/health-diet/61987-horrible-vectra-3d-reaction.html
I'm not saying this will happen to every dog that uses it but there is better holistic alternatives without a chance of such a bad side effect |

A lot of people on here use essential oils - mbarnard0429 wrote:
- 100% Therapeutic Grade Oils are a necessity.
For fleas you can use: Lavender, Cedar, or Tea Tree Oils.
For Ticks: Rose Geranium (Can also be called Geranium Rose)
A drop on the collar the oils you chose 1 - 2x a week.
I use Simplers brand.
Reminder: DO NOT USE ON CATS - These can be VERY toxic to cats.
I recently bought vectri repel for mosquitoes, flies, ticks and fleas I made a thread for it in grooming if people want to know whats in it and it's safe to use on cats |
