Does anyone else's Sibe have a hard core hankering for grass? Sometimes, I think my Murphy is part goat or cow, because he's constantly trying to eat grass when we go outside.

And.... does anyone else's Sibe get a white residue looking stuff on their noses? I've noticed Murphy get a white line along the edge of the upper part of his nose, near the fur-line, but it seems to only be when his nose is dry.

Any thoughts, comments, help on either of these would be most appreciated!

Ours eat grass alot.. I read an article about animals eating grass horses and dogs eat it more in the spring cause there are more sugars in it. I can't find the article.

Mine eats grass mainly in spring because, as Linda mentioned, the new growth is sweeter (aphids target new plant growth for the same reason). Some dogs love to eat grass all year long though and it's fine so long as there aren't harmful chemicals or pesticides in the grass. Plenty of people in the past have also described their huskies as being part cow or goat same as you.

The only time my dog has white residue on his nose is when he gets sand on it. When it dries it becomes really noticeable. At least in my dog's case a simple wipe with a hand towel cleans it off.

My malamute eats grass all the time. It's really not a big deal. Maggie is a cow. Lol
