Title describes the issue.. Anyone have suggestions on how it could be resolved?
I heard putting her own poop where she specifically tends to dig/eat mulch could help.. But I was thinking this might be a food problem as well. I normally give her 1 cup of puppy chow 2-3 times a day depending on how much training/exercise she's had that day.

also.. she's shaking a lot during sleep, more than usual. Is this normal in Huskies?

All puppies obsessively eat grass and other things they shouldn't. The best thing you can do is watch her closely and correct her behavior whenever possible until she grows out of it. Putting poop in that area might help, it might not. It depends on the dog. I don't see how giving it a try could hurt. As for shaking, does it look like she's running, chewing, or trying to bark in her sleep? If so, she's just dreaming, It's completely normal

How old is she? I never fed more than 2 1/2 cups of food to Karli. Now that I have her on adult food I only feed 2 cups a day. Huskies don't require as much food as other breeds. Karli eats grass all the time and I'm pretty sure she's started to eat worms she digs up (EW!!!) but she hasn't thrown any of it up. I would definitely try the poop thing, I used it to stop her digging in places and its worked well for me.

Eating grass is normal. All of our dogs and cats do it. It helps with digestion, or when they've eaten a raw marrow bone and have some larger pieces that they need to throw up. They'll eat the grass, which must tickle some part of their insides, and forces them to throw up the bone pieces. There's no harm in letting them eat grass. Our dogs are no longer puppies and still eat grass, and it's obvious that they're doing it for a reason. They're not just doing it because it's some bad behavior. They even make grass specifically to grow for cats to eat.

As for the shaking while sleeping, it's just a normal dream state. All of our dogs do it. They'll twitch and shake and make funny noises. Nothing abnormal about it.

And neither of these are just a husky thing. All 3 of our dogs do it, and they're all different breeds/mutts.

O, and as for the mulch, our dogs don't have exposure to mulch, but they do chew on sticks and other things naturally found in nature. I haven't seen anything wrong with it yet, and I watched them closely to make sure they weren't eating the stick pieces. I do remember reading about a specific type/brand of mulch that was made with chocolate or cocoa, and dogs were naturally attracted to eating it, and it was killing them. So be careful about that.

Okay, I'll keep a close eye on her. I did notice that a place she was trying to eat stuff, someone had previously puked there and on the bush..

That's good to know Karli, I'll head over to the Feeding section and do some research there next.

And it didn't seem like any of the dreams she's had before, it looked like she was shivering; even though it's 68 degrees in here. Perhaps it was though, because she isn't doing it now.

I would like to add that you watch what kind of mulch she is eating; I read that some forms of mulch have toxic properties in them ....."Keep fertilizers, pesticides, anti-fungals and any chemicals out of your pet's reach. Any plants on the ground or within reach shouldn’t be sprayed with chemicals to avoid possible ingestion by your pets. Some types of mulch, including cocoa mulch, can be toxic to dogs if they eat large amounts. Other varieties of mulch that are treated can be problematic for your dogs as well. Some dreams are more vivid then others, just like with our dreams. Kennedy is the funniest to watch when she is dreaming. The other night she woke me up because she was barking in her sleep. She barks, howls, whines, runs...it's crazy. She will huff and puff in her sleep too. Sometimes it freaks me out if she really gets to going, but it is all normal stuff.
