| So, Pippa has started a new, weird thing. Randomly throughout the day, she'll sprint to the bed and quickly scoot herself under the bed. It definitely seems like a fearful behavior, her ears are down and her tail is usually between her legs when I finally get her out.
I can't find anything that seems to set this off, and it happens both at my apartment and in my room at my parents house. She even did it this morning after we came inside, I went to get her food bowl, and told her to "Get in your house!". She's always super excited for food and gets in her crate with no problems, but this morning she tried to get under the bed.
She did it yesterday when we were in my room and she started to sniff under the bed, so I called her, (excitedly, and she always comes at home, because she knows there's almost always a treat involved) and she crammed herself under the bed.
I don't know what might have started this. I adopted her when she was about six months old and have no clue about where she was kept or what kind of life she had before I got her, so I wonder if it could have something to do with something that happend before?
But I'm not sure how to begin fixing this. I mean, if she just wanted under the bed I wouldn't really care, but it seems very fearful.

| Maybe it's anxiety? We've had Mya since she was a puppy (she's 7 years old now) and about a year ago she just randomly would start acting weird. Ears back, eyes wide, pacing, and wanting our attention. Then she would go in the shower. She still just randomly goes in the shower with that same demeanor. Some people suggested the thundershirt or a natural calming aide. I didn’t try either because going in the shower seems to sooth her. She’ll come out when she’s ready and is completely back to normal. |

| my Zoë has also started going under the bed when i go to sleep. once i tell them to go to bed she will go under the bed and stay there until i get all settle in and stop moving and then she will come out and get on the bed also.she started this right after i do Maya and i think she started doing it because at first Maya would always want to play fight once we were in bed. no matter how tired Maya is she will always, at the time, wanted to play fight once we was in bed. so i think she started going under neath the bed to get away from Maya.
also she will go under the bed when she does something she shouldn't and is in trouble. i just consider it as her safe place |
