| Hello everyone, this is my first time on the forum but I'm in need of advice! My 6month old Mila has recently started throwing up after eating, whether it's several hours or minutes, and has very loose stool. She does not seem lethargic at all, is still her normal very hyper and playful self, and still begs me to take her running. I thought maybe her food was the culprit, I have been giving her Simply Nourish puppy food, which at the time I had looked up and had gotten good reviews. I had been feeding her te Blue Buffalo Widerness but had switched (yes, I did it gradually) from it because it's expensive and I have another 4yr old husky who obviously can't eat puppy food, and the Simply nourish was slightly cheaper for a little more food.
I admit I haven't been around to witness most of what's been happening, as Im in the army and I'm at work 12-14 hours a day, but my girlfriend is home with the dogs all day and has been doing nothing but complaining about it. I don't know whether she gives them something she's not supposed to because she's terrible about giving them table scraps no matter how much I protest.
Anyways, I stopped feeding her the food and tried feeding her a boiled egg (I've never given her raw food and wasnt sure if that would make it worse). Well, she threw that up in the middle of the night. Next I tried boiling a chicken breast and giving that to her, shredded up for easier digestion, and when I woke up this morning she had thrown up I'm her kennel and layed in it. I tried a smaller amount of boiled chicken again this morning and have been giving her the water I used to boil the chicken in to drink. So far it's been good, but does anyone have better advice? |

| Sounds like it could be the switch. Mine two do really well on Wilderness so to me its worth the cost and I have to buy puppy and adult as well which sucks money wise, but soon they can be on the same formula.
How gradually did you make this switch.? With huskies I take about 2 weeks to fully integrate a new food.
Also has she been checked for worms?
If she was doing good on the Wilderness you may need to go back to it. Her system may not like the Nourish. Also be sure your gf isn't giving her any other food, these dogs are notorious for having upset tummies lol. Good luck. |

| To be honest, at 6 months old you can put her on the adult formula of BBW. That's when I switched Karli over because it was better for us price-wise. There's a small difference in the nutrient levels but not enough that it will affect your puppy. If she was doing fine on BB I would definitely switch her back and see how she does once her tummy has settled. Some foods just don't sit well with dogs. |
