| Ever since Selena was around 4 months old she has always vomited yellow bile really early in the morning. Either waking me up or once she has been awake 30 minutes or so. The vet says she is 100% healthy and there is nothing wrong the problem is because she isn't a big eater and hardly ever eats! They said to leave her hard kibble out at all times which I do and still no progression. She still doesn't go to her food. She will eat it if I hand feed her though. So they told me to try giving her soft food which she does like and will eat but I don't want to give her all soft food 3 times a day and not have her eat any hard food at all. What do you guys recommend? My girl just doesn't like to eat (She eats Wellness Core puppy hard & soft) She is also very skinny to look at, every one that sees her says to me "I think you are under feeding your dog or get some meat on her" ugh! |

| One of mine used to do the same early in the morning and it was due to an empty stomach. What I did to fix the problem was start giving her treats at night right before bed so she didn't have to go as long between dinner and breakfast with an empty stomach. It fixed the problem for me but in your case, if she isn't eating to begin with, I don't think it will work for you. I wouldn't recommend the treating like I did if she's not eating her main food because you don't want to fill her up on treats so that she can further hold out on eating her meals.
As far as the not eating, have you tried mixing the soft and hard food together? If she'll eat that you could start with mixing a little bit of hard food (I'm assuming kibble) with mostly soft food (assuming canned). Then gradually increase the amount of kibble while decreasing the amount of canned over time so that eventually you have her eating the amount of kibble and canned that you're comfortable with.
Another thing that I used to do to get my dogs to eat was have a jackpot treat reward that they only received after they finished their dinner. After a while they learned that if they ate their dinner they would receive a very high value treat reward afterward, but if they left any food behind in their bowl they didn't receive the reward. Once they figured that one out they always cleaned their bowl and anxiously awaited their reward. I later phased out the reward when they were consistently eating all their meals.
And don't forget too that huskies go through a really lean period during their growth whether they eat a lot or not so I wouldn't worry too much about the comments from people. My boy ate tons when he was younger and he was so skinny that we got lots of comments and looks from people like we were starving him. He didn't fill out and look "normal" (as in not uber skinny) until closer to 3 years of age. _________________ |

| Have you tried adding some warm water to the kibble? Lucian wouldn't eat much of his kibble when he was younger, I started adding warm water to it, and he would clean his bowl. Maybe she prefers something softer to chew on. It would be so much easier if they could talk and tell us why they don't want to eat, lol. Hope you figure it out, I know it would drive me crazy if Lucian didn't eat. |

| I tried adding the hard kibble to the canned food about a month ago Ang she would eat around it but I guess I could try it again. Yes I have tried warm water to the hard kibble as well :/
She talks to me A LOT, too bad I don't know what she is telling me lol!
Could I use something like chicken broth in the hard kibble? My vet recommends she eats 3-5 small meals a day so her stomach isnt empty and to stop the vomiting but would that much broth be ok? Or maybe something different... |
