Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Here is Siva, my new companion, she has been here for a week now, and is settling in quite nicely. She is only 7 weeks old, but is doing a great job, and is already the greatest little thing in my life.

I found this forum a few weeks before she arrived, and it has been great to find so much info for all my questions, as she is my first dog. And so many raw feeders here! Great to see!

We are in Dunedin, NZ, so if there are any others here, please don't hesitate to contact me, I would love for Siva to be able to meet some distant kin Smile Especially anyone who has sledding/pull dogs, as I would love to get into that as she grows.

Some photos.. Very Happy

Sooo cute! I dont normally like blue eyes, but hers are really lovely! Welcome to the forum. I pick up my puppy on Sunday when she is 7.5 weeks. I look forward to seeing your baby grow!

Do you feed raw?

Thanks! Oh awesome, you'll be so excited, what colour are his/her eyes?

Yes, have just made the transition to raw, as her breeder was feeding a mix of things. She's just been having chicken mince, chicken necks and bones at the moment, but am currently looking into more varied options. When she first had the chicken she ate it before the kibble, and the german shepherd pup in the photo did the same thing when she was first introduced, and was very quickly putting her nose up at the kibble completely.

Have you decided what you will be feeding?

I'm actually not sure what color her eyes are. They dont look blue anymore in her pictures, but I can still see her pupils so maybe a light brown. I'll find out tomorrow Smile

I'm glad to hear her transition to raw went smoothly. I'm going to feed raw too. I have a lot of chicken backs in the freezer to start her on, and I ordered 30 lbs of Turkey legs from my co-op which will be delivered in a couple weeks.

Just make sure it's a slow transition, I think I changed too fast for Siva, but her bodies getting used to it now.

Good luck with your baby Very Happy
