2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Training to pee outside Empty
PostSubject: Training to pee outside   Training to pee outside EmptyFri May 03, 2013 1:20 pm

Okay so I am kinda getting to my wits end, Salina refuses to hold her bladder. The only time she will not pee inside is when she is in her crate. I take her out every hour or when ever she look like she has to go. But she just refuses to not pee in the house. Demon on the other hand had one acciednt in the house when he was about 3 and a half months old and never again. His bladder is stronger than mine for crying out loud. But Salina just does not understand the concept of peeing outside and not inside. I don't want to have to keep her crated when I'm busy with something else around the house so if anyone has some advice I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

John

Does she pee in one spot or does she vary it? What has her potty training been like until now - has she always done this? What do you use to clean the place where she pees inside?

Have you used a enzyme cleaner on the spots she is peeing on? Are you giving her praise or a treat when she comes back in from pottying? These are what helped me when I was potty training Loki. Been accident free since he was 4 months.

Could she possibly have a urinary track infection? Well I guess not since she can hold it in her crate.... hummm.... I would start shampooing carpets.

To add to the questions above: How much water is she drinking? How are you scolding her when she pees inside? Are you doing it firm enough?

Iam having the same issue my 10 and a half week little girl will not pee outside all the time she somtimes waits till shes back in although she is getting better at going on the news paper. She used to pee everywhere I had to use pinesal and bleech to get rid of her scent and then i left a box under the news paper she peed on and left the box there but changed the paper. This seems to help in training her. Although I dont know how to get her to the next step of outside only any help please!
