| Bodhi and I were playing with a tennis ball in the living room. I'd throw it off the wall; it would carom and he'd attack. Big fun. Then the phone rang. I went into the other room to get it, leaving him with the tennis ball.
When I got back, the tennis ball was gone. Bodhi was in the same place where I had left him, but he had orange tennis ball cover fuzz on his lips. My wife and I looked every where and no tennis ball. We checked his favorite hiding places, under the chairs and in the corners. I thought he had eaten it!
I called the vet to see how late they were open. They said until 7:30. It was 6:30 and we are a half hour away. They told me they'd have to x-ray his stomach. I'm thinking this is gonna hurt.
All the while Bodhi looks like nothing is wrong. We are panicking now. One more sweep of the floor, this time with a flashlight- and there's the tennis ball, under the sofa against one of the legs.
Big sigh of relief! |

| Oh my gosh!! They can worry us much, little boogers. Glad it was nothing! . The other night I was SURE Mish swallowed a lego. We did give her a squirt of perxide to make her puke it up and no lego! But I did find a piece of metal from the end of a ground turkey roll that I fed that morning! Geesh!! |

| LOL OMG So glad you found the tennis ball - I'd be freaking out too! It's odd... I read your post as a poem, not intentionally of course but because the way it was written To read it that way, I was forced (pulled a bit of a Yoda for that last line...) |

| I had a similar scare with a husky I had a few years ago. You're right, you immediately think, OMG he ATE the ball, giant vet bill, here we come! Like you, I was lucky & found the ball off in a corner. BUT, now that I have Murphy, a high energy pup who LOVES to play ball, I remembered that mini-coronary I had with the last husky. So when I bought Murphy toys, I made sure the tennis ball was a larger one, a bit bigger than a softball. Sure he skinned all the "fur" from the ball, but he still loves his ball. And amazingly enough, he actually prefers soccer balls! LOL On a side note, I've been contemplating buying one of those netted ball returns that people buy for their kids who are in baseball/softball. I'm thinking Murphy might enjoy trying to catch the ball on a rebound... Maybe... |

| is eating a tennis ball a big deal(I understand swallowing it whole is)? Just asking cause Thane has eaten two I think in his life time but he literally shreds them to bits. The small one passed in his poop and the big one (the petstore kind) he threw up. Just curious lol Thank god you found the ball |
