Vinegar kills fleas ? Empty
PostSubject: Vinegar kills fleas ?   Vinegar kills fleas ? EmptySun Apr 14, 2013 4:14 pm

I read online that if you spray a mix of white vinegar and white onto your pet's fur it kills fleas, i did it today, still hadn't time to see results. Im still gonna buy frontline, but i like this because its organic. Here's the post i saw:

In between removing fleas on dogs during outbreaks, keep fleas at bay by spritzing the dog with a vinegar spray mixture. Purchase a clean spray bottle and fill it about 1/4 high with vinegar and the remainder with water, shaking the mixture together. Again, one to two drops of essential oils is permissible. Spray the dog, being careful to avoid the eyes, and let the mixture air dry. This spray mixture can also be used on carpets, wood floors and furnishings to kill fleas (but avoid stone or marble surfaces).

Using a mixture of vinegar and water can help remove fleas on dogs, especially if partnered with a flea-removing shampoo. You can also keep your dog flea-free by spraying or bathing him with vinegar mixtures regularly.

Any reviews on this ? Have you guys tried this?

Use Apple Cider Vinegar, not White Vinegar. White Vinegar is good for getting pee out of dog beds and stuff like that, but I don't think you can spray it on dogs. I use ACV all the time for fleas; in my girls' water, bath time occassionaly, and I do spray them with it if they get fleas. You have to get the ACV with "The Mother" in it. It will say directly on the bottle if it has the mother or not. If it doesn't have the mother, you will not get the benefits from it.

No, you can use white vinegar for ridding the dog of fleas. You can use white vinegar to spray a 50/50 mixture on the coat and/or give the dog a bath in a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar. It is quite effective I hear, although I've never needed to try it myself.

Interesting. I had been told it was too acidic even with the 50/50 to spray on dogs. Is it more effective then ACV??

Honestly, I've never heard of using ACV to kill fleas as a spray on the coat...only white vinegar.

I use ACV internally only.
