ok so im calming down from being pissed off yesterday. yesterday morning i was calling the dogs in to take them for a walk and Jack was not coming, only 2 things would explain that, A. he was no longer in the yard or B. he was up to something. the answer is always B. i found him along side the house chewing on something. it was a giant rib bone, i don't know how it got in the yard but i do know our neighbors were smoking meat on sunday, so i assumed it was from them. i took the bone away and (i know this was wrong) chucked it back into their yard. i got the dogs ready and went out the front door for our walk. i heard our neighbor in their back yard walk over to their trash and throw something out, i figured it was the rib bone i chucked over there. i though all was well then. i got home late last night from working my other job and Ken let the dogs out of the bedroom to great me and i opened the back door to let them out and what was sitting on the deck... a RIB BONE!!!!! i throw it out in our trash this time. im not sure if the neighbor did not throw it out the first time and really put it back in our yard, or if there were really 2 bones in the yard to start with but i was pissed. this morning i let the dogs out and Jack ran to the corner of the yard where their trash and smoker are and started sniffing around, i really though he was going to find another bone. so do i say something to the neighbor about it, then they will really know i chucked the bone back in the yard, or do i let it go and hope it does not happen again? has this happened to you?

I haven't had that happen with bones. Strawberries keep popping up half eaten scattered around the yard, and we've had toys and paintballs. No bones. I would have thrown it away in my trash the first time and chocked it up to stupid kids. But if it happened again, I'm no stranger to confrontation. Some friendly fence talk would probably reveal if it was them or not.

It would depend on if I'd had other problems with this neighbor before. If you get along with them/him/her, I would ask them about it. If you don't get along with this neighbor, I would just be watchful. Our neighbor, Sadie, didn't get along with a neighbor on her other side (it wasn't her fault). Someone ended up giving her dog hamburger with glass in it, and she lost her dog because of that. She was never able to prove it, but thought it was the neighbor she didn't get along with. Like Eddie, I am not afraid to get confrontational, either, but if I have to live next to someone for a long time, would rather get along with them. This is just my opinion, having had good neighbors & bad.

Hmm... yeah, I agree with Amy (and Eddy). I'm not afraid to be confrontational if there is a need. However, if I were in your shoes right now, I would wait and be watchful. If nothing else happens... forget about it. If something else does, I would politely ask the neighbor about it. Weird though...

We are friendly with these neighbors so i would not have an issue talking to them about it but i think i will wait and see if it happens again before saying anything to them. now jack is on a hunt for things every time he goes into the back yard...
