Stark turned one in March and hasn't really had a true coat blow yet. He's shedding a little more than normal but his puppy undercoat is still there. I'm gearing up for the fall blow for his first true time...

Jeff, you had asked the technique I use for the undercoat rake. I usually do short, choppy strokes to loosen the undercoat, then longer swipes to gather it on the rake and clean it off.

I've also tried the knockoff Furminator, the "Shed Monster." Not really impressed, the undercoat rake is much better. If someone were brushing a wooly husky, the Shed Monster might do better. But for my short-medium coated fellas, it didn't do much.
