Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Searched, found nothing. Anyone used Greenies treats for teeth and breath? We brush every night and stuff but was just curious if anyone feeds greenies. Our friend feeds greenies and her dogs love them but theres so much negative spin on them i was looking for you guys for feedback. Lemme know.

I use to use them, but they did more harm then good. They didn't really work for me and my dogs didn't really like them. Then I found out about the issues they cause and I just threw them away.

Have you tried brushing their teeth yet? I can't really think of a better way then brushing their teeth.

Used to be they weren't digestible but I heard that there was a formula change at some point, don't know if it was true or if they made them better. I wouldn't use them though. There are better products on the market that do the same thing that are safer. I like giving my dogs Zukes dental chews when they don't get raw meaty bones to gnaw on.

I took my pups to daycare for the first time Tuesday and they got a greenie for snack for the first time also. They seemed to enjoy them, but I was unaware of any negative side effects until just now.

I'll be throwing them in the trash and trying something different.

I gave my Jaxy a few greenies, however we saw his stool was runny after about 2 days after he had them. I avoided them like plague ended up donating them to my local SPCA

I give my pups Zukes Z Bones as I prefer the ingredients in them better. Besides they are made in Colorado (local to us) and it does help. Ginger is prone to tartar build up and we have been able to maintain her dental care with Zukes, brushing, and himalayan chews or beef marrow bones.

I also got him Antler Dog Chew from Pet Expertise, X-Large 8"-10" Long

which he loves and seems like it's keeping his teeth cleaned.
