I know there are plenty of discussions on this, but wanted to explain my scenario. Maybe some of my Mile High peeps can chime in here.

I have a six year old neutered husky boy. He is the sweetest thing, very submissive. I have been invited to meet ups with other huskies in Colorado, but I have never had my boy near another dog in my ownership of him. My best friend has a lab mix and he brought him over today. At first, it was all growls and such, but we let them set the boundries and they were OK after that. About 30 minutes later while both were walking through a hallway, my husky turned very aggressive on the lab. The lab is not neutered, again mine is.

I thought it might of been because they were too close in the hallway for comfort. I took my sibe away and everything calmed down. About an hour later, they were about 10 feet apart. My guy was drinking from his bowl, the lab was minding his own business sniffing the carpet. Suddenly, my sibe turned and rushed the lab with his teeth bare and starting biting the other dogs ear and face. I have had them separated since. I have no prior experience with this kind of husky aggression. He came from a family with other dogs.

Now I am worried about taking him to meet other dogs. I understand this is his territory and this is a new dog, so I don't want to worry too much about this.

Any advice is appreciated.

I think it may have to do with an intact male in HIS house. I don't think a lot of males would take too kindly to that, especially being in cramped spaces like the hallway.

I'm not too sure if I missed your other posts, but how long have you had him?

Sheba doesn't like to share her space with dogs that aren't her sister lol. Like today, we went to the dog park with my friend and her very boisterous lab/wiem mix. He has no manners and is VERY in your face. Even though we have played with him before and had a sleep over, she still doesn't appreciate him in her space. We carpooled to the park, and the whole time she was telling him off the whole time anytime she decided he was too close to her. Now as soon as we got to the park, they wrestled, they chased, they had a pretty good time. When we got back to the car however, same behavior. She showed him her teeth and was just jabbering on and on.

I wouldn't be too worried about it, but that is just my opinion. I would take him to a meet up, but go a little early or go when it is almost over so there aren't as many huskies there and let him feel it out.

We met a husky on the trail today, he immediately growled at the other boy A bit discouraging... If I had let him go he would of immediately started a fight with the other husky.

Since it was his own home I can see where that could be the cause for issue... Also since he was on a leash when he met the other dog sometimes that's also a problem. I would certainly look for a training facility around you... I have a leash "aggressive" Aussie who we've worked with and now is much more OK about approaching other dogs while on leash and is just calmer and more willing to listen in general while they're around.

There is a behavior program called BAT which I incorporate into his life with anything that he is apprehensive about or nervous of. It has really worked wonders with him and I firmly believe without it we wouldn't be where we are today. The best thing for him is to begin introducing him to other dogs in a structured environment where socialization isn't pressured. What city/state are you located in? I could search for a place near you that may offer a higher quality training class.

Or- if you're comfortable you can work BAT without a trainer. There are a ton of videos online as well as a book (which I highly recommend) that can help you. And a lot of the times it's our own emotions about the situation which make things more complicated for the dogs.
