2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Gray and Dilute reds are popular....though a few of us are starting to feel we as a breed are going too dilute and need to bring color back into the lines. Which is the reason I got the girls from such heavy color lines.

Half of he siberians didn't even show up - I truly think things would have been different had Karnovanda, Kontoki and Paragon not been absent.

Paragon was there, though Maguire maybe had an off day....and Karnovanda's Huck Finn is also young and was looking pretty rangy at Nationals so who knows how he looked at WKC. But had Issiah shown up things may have been a much different story. Like we always say, it's one judge's opinion....another day another show another opportunity.

[is this Westiminster thread derailed....?!]

But this is very interesting, and did develop organically from the discussion of Husky markings/colorings. Are you able to predict colors of puppies? Or, I guess, is red more/less dominant than black/grey? Other way around?

Maybe there is a breeding ----> color/markings thread Question

Haha - that is all genetics. Ceara has done a lot of reading on the subject, but Coat color is less difficult to predict than genetic disease. IMO

Red is recessive.

Gray is Dominant.

I stand corrected, the major players were absent. Well that does make it a completely different show-

He was asking specifically about the nose bars- give it time for your puppy's mask to change into his adult look before we put a label on anything Smile

Wonder if that blizzard had anything to do with the major players being absent? I can't see the big 3 missing the biggest show of the year, not when all of them are so on right now.

Megan, love the Huskavarna dogs! Smile Qudos too - I see the most adorable Steve on there! Is he oversize or just in pictures I see? Kevin? Just looked at the other breeders and they are pretty darn cute, too! Many have coloring similar to Frosti, which is very unusual in person here in LA (we mostly see black and whites) so she gets quite a bit of attention (and asking if she's a wolf).

Stevie is within standard. He's got A LOT of coat, but he is definitely in standard. Smile

LOL,then the other two are midgets from my Xmas card! Steve is sooo handsome!

Steve never looks bad - that dog is always perfectly clean and totally photogenic. He's tall, but doesn't go over standard. He just looks so big and commanding!
