Keegan is unmistakeable, even dirty, haha. I love Denali though too! Does he have a scrapbook in here? And the little one next to Denali, who is that? Sorry for all the questions.

So, Keegan has been....shall we say VERY enthusiastic about his job as a sled dog. To the point his excitement is channeled in less than conducive ways. Including line chewing (yes I had to get cabled lines) and 'air chomping' (which is essentially blind biting in the air, sometimes gets the best of my handlers aka husband)....he's been running point since we started running him and it was suggested, maybe he's trying to tell us something....that something, is I'M A LEAD DOG! He is still showing some less than favorable energy channeling, but it's getting so much better even after just two tries in lead. He didn't crack once and nailed every command like an old pro. Lest just say I'm one proud momma.

Sounds like someone is getting a bit frisky Good to hear he made such a successful switch to lead dog.

I've wondered sometimes, totally irrelevant, of course, if Ami would have made a good lead dog - whenever we walk with anyone else, dog or person, that dog has to be out front - he has serious drive and even if I'm holding him back, he just pushes ahead until he is in front - then, knowing he has an entourage, he keeps a full-charge pace with purpose. Unlike when we walk alone, he loves to meander, poke in the nooks and crannies...pounce on the little critters in the ditch...stop and get his ears scratched

Honestly I do not really see the scenery in its entirety when I'm on the sled. There is so much you need to be paying attention to, dog wise, the view takes a back seat.

That's good to hear - I have a tendancy to let my mind wander when walking Ami and as soon as I do, I miss his signals and BAM - I'm on the ground again Happened again last night...
